Update on PLA Activities Around Taiwan (Based on 's Data) This June has shown noticeably different patterns compared to June in previous years, which is definitely worth paying attention to. Three Observations: (1) So far this June, the number of PLA aircraft sorties has exceeded that of the same period in previous years, while naval vessel activity remains consistent with levels observed in June 2024. (2) There were three peak periods (with more than 30 sorties detected) of aircraft activity in 2024, and so far this June, three similar peaks have been recorded. However, unlike in 2023 and 2024, none of this month’s peak periods involved land-based aircraft crossing the Bashi Channel into the Western Pacific. (3) From June 13 to June 15 this year, no PLA aircraft were detected near Taiwan for three consecutive days. Since 2024, such a three-day gap has only occurred twice, both during typhoon conditions. Prior to the Strait Thunder 2025A Drill and Joint Sword 2024A Exercise, there were instances of two consecutive days without any aircraft detected.
