Wiz (ウィズ) is a major supporting character in both KonoSuba and Consultation series. She is a former adventurer referred to as the Ice Witch (氷の魔女)[1] who retired after becoming a Lich and a Devil King's General, opening a "famous" magic item shop in Axel.
Appearance[]
Wiz is a lovely and well-endowed woman in her early 20s with fair skin and a curvaceous figure. She has brown eyes and wavy brown hair reaching down to the front of her shoulders, further behind her back and slightly curling at the tips. Her fringe sometimes covers her right eye. Wiz also possesses a single ahoge that arcs off the top of her head.
Wiz's color theme is purple. She usually wears a light purple long dress under a dark purple hooded gambeson robe with golden props, and dark-purple boots. Over her robe, Wiz uses a golden cross brooch with bat wings.
Personality[]
Wiz is a soft-spoken and affable woman who treats everyone with deference and courtesy, even Kazuma. She is sacrificial as well, being willing to give up her life for her companions[1] and letting herself being purified by Aqua if it helps her.[2] Wiz is very committed too, asking Aqua to be spared until she fulfill the promise Wiz made to her former party members[3] and working hard to help Vanir realize his dream of building his own dungeon.
However, Wiz is an airhead as well, being too dense to notice her party member's crush on her,[1] misinterpreting the peoples' relations[4] and intentions,[5] and often blowing her fellow Generals' cover by greeting them. She is also quite demure, tending to be shy around lewd looks[6] and situations,[7] also struggling with romance, panicking because of her lack of experience.[5] Therefore, Wiz doesn't tolerate being sexualized on merchandise.[8]
Wiz is very innocent and hard-working as well, truly believing she can accomplish anything with hard work, even if it takes hundreds of years.[9] Unfortunately Wiz is not suited for the merchant job, since she only evaluates the products Magical Power, gets so carried away by their selling points as to ignore their pain points, and is bad at advertising merch. Also, since she is not aware of her poor business savvy, once Vanir takes his eyes off her, Wiz stocks more defective or unaffordable junk, saying that "it's bound to sell".
Thanks to her bad business sense and the fact Wiz invests every bit of money she can get her hands on in the shop, the harder she works, the further Wiz falls into debt, leaving her in a constant state of poverty. Due to this she is so desperate for ways to earn extra money to pay her rent[10] that Wiz is willing to sell her hair and nails.[11] She also survives on nothing but bread crusts and sugar water at times,[12] and lives at constant risk of going bankrupt, which is why Wiz is a very humble person.
When Wiz was an adventurer, she used to slay monsters ruthlessly and get frustrated with failure,[1] but after turning into a Lich, Wiz became a pacifist, choosing to talk things out or over-apologize instead of a tougher action, as well as tending to panic when confronted. Moreover, since Wiz usually just pleads when she is suffering or being threatened, Wiz puts up with bullying, which is why she toughs out Aqua and Vanir's mistreatment.
Nevertheless, although Wiz became a softer woman, she still has some triggers that make her angry, like threats against innocent lives other than adventurers and Knights whose job is to risk their lives fighting against monsters and the Devil King,[13] as well as hints about her real age, which Wiz insists it is "forever 20" since she became a Lich.[14] Futhermore, as a proud Queen of the Undead, she tends to look down on Vampires,[15] and vie with them.[16]

Abilities[]
As a Lich, Wiz is an immortal being with many skills unique to the undead and an incredibly high magical power beyond regular humans, as she can move even after casting Explosion Magic. As the Queen of the Undead, she can command ghosts and send undead to the Afterlife though magic circles. However, as an undead, she is also weak against Purification Magic.
- Drain Touch: Absorbs MP and HP from a target, which in turn can be transferred to somebody else. However, when Wiz uses it on someone with Holy Aura, she may be purified, and on low-quality MP monsters, it causes her stomach feels bloated.
- Hand of the Immortal King: Gives random debuffs on target with a physical touch or attacks with hostile intent. These include Level Drain, Curse, Sleep, Magic Seal, Panic, Petrification, and Instant Death.
- Physical Resistance: Only physical attacks from magic weapons can damage her.
- Magical Resistance: As a lich, Wiz has high resistance against magical attacks.
- Cursed Petrification: Petrifies all enemies in a chosen location.
- Cursed Necromancy: Reanimates dead creatures to serve as allies.
- Night Vision: As an undead, Wiz has the ability to see in the dark.
- Magic: Wiz is an incredibly powerful mage who mastered the magical arts, being able to cast many magic branches and even invisible spells without chanting.
- Fire Resist: Raises resistance against fire-based attacks.
- Anti-Devil Curses: Wiz learns unspecified anti-devil curses in anticipation for her duel with Vanir.
- Basic Magic: Wiz has been shown to use basic magic. Due to her high magical power, her use of it far eclipses the likes of Kazuma.
- Freeze: Creates a chill able to freeze the surface of the target's body.
- Intermediate Magic: Wiz has been shown to use intermediate magic on occasion.
- Freeze Gust: Creates a freezing white fog.
- Sleep: A curse that puts the target to sleep without them noticing.
- Paralyze: Prevents the target from moving.
- Advanced Magic: As a powerful Arch Wizard, Wiz has access to advanced magic. She has specialized ice-type spells:
- Crystal Prison: Summons a ball of ice that encases the victim in a prison of ice.
- Cursed Crystal Prison: A more powerful version of Crystal Prison that instantly encases the victim in a prison of ice. One of Wiz's most used spells.
- Bottomless Swamp: Creates a dark-purple goo swamp that swallows anyone above it.
- Cursed Lightning: Shoots a piercing bolt of black lightning. Wiz is capable of killing a dragon in one hit with this spell.
- Inferno: Summons enormous flames that incinerate that surrounding area.
- Light of Saber: Creates a beam of light that cleanly slices the target. It was used to cut through the barrier around the Devil King's castle.
- Lightning Strike: Summons bolts of lightning from the sky to strike their opponent.
- Creation Magic: Wiz can also use spells for elemental construct creation.
- Create Earth Golem: Creates an earthen golem from the ground soil.
- Create Earth Wall: Creates a earthen wall or shield from the ground soil.
- Detection Magic: Wiz can use spells to locate traps, enemies and treasures:
- Enemy Search: Reacts to the enemy's presence in the target.
- Trap Search: Reacts to the trap presence in the target.
- Teleportation Magic: Magic branch that allows the user to transport a target to a different location instantly.
- Teleport: Instantaneously transports up to 4 targets to a marked location. Each user can have 3 marked locations for teleportation. Wiz's marked locations are the entrance of Axel, the Crimson Demon Village (formerly Arcanletia) and the entrance of the World Largest Dungeon in Elroad.
- Random Teleport: A spell that sends the target to an undetermined location.
- Explosion Magic: A special branch of magic that summons a single beam of light that detonates at the target, creating a devastating blast of pure magical power. However, it consumes so much MP, being a single shot spell. Even Wiz can just use it once a day, costing so much MP she becomes unable to cast any other spell, like Teleport, after casting it.
Equipment[]
Wiz usually uses some of the useless and defective products of her shop.
- Rosary: According to Wiz, it leads to "wonderful encounters", but it actually attracts monsters.
While trying to get rid of Vanir in the past, Wiz used a few magic tools against him:[1]
- Forced Teleport Scroll: A scroll with a spell that forcibly teleports every living being in the area to another location.
- Barrier Tool: An item bought from the Crimson Demons that create a triangular barrier that can't be broken, both from inside and outside.
- Forbidden Crystal: A magical crystal that consumes the user's lifespan, boosting their magical power.
Trivia[]
- Both Wiz's real age and birthday are unknown.
- The Devil King used to have headaches with Wiz often selling his priceless heirlooms in her shop.[17]
- Wiz didn't become a skeleton like a regular lich because she keeps eating. She also doesn't use the toilet.[18]
- Since Wiz is now an undead, she can't show her adventurer card in the Guild, reason why she can't take quests and retired as an adventurer.[8]
- In the initial web novel, Wiz's Explosion was weaker than Megumin's right from the beginning, and had Teleported the Destroyer's coronatite core into a volcano.
