This Supreme Court decision is complete bullshit. They didn’t even rule on whether Trump’s executive order stripping birthright citizenship is legal or not. Instead, they sidestepped the entire issue by saying the courts can’t block the order for everyone, just for the specific people who sued. That’s how they’re letting this go forward without actually saying it’s constitutional. It’s cowardly.
The Fourteenth Amendment is crystal clear. If you’re born in the United States, you’re a citizen. This executive order twists that by claiming some kids born here don’t count, just because of their parents’ immigration status. That goes against over a century of law. But the Court didn’t touch that. They just hid behind “procedural limits” and some outdated rule from 1789, as if we’re still living in colonial times.
What makes it worse is their logic. They say giving relief to just a few people is enough, even when the harm applies to everyone. That doesn’t work when we’re talking about citizenship. You can’t tell one baby they’re a citizen but not the next just because their mom didn’t file a lawsuit. That’s chaos. And it’s deliberate. They know exactly what they’re doing.
This ruling gives the government the green light to violate people’s rights one by one, knowing most folks don’t have the time, money, or resources to sue. It’s not about the law. It’s about power. The conservative majority is protecting this executive order without ever saying it’s okay, and that’s the most dangerous part. They’ve opened the door for more executive abuse, and they’re acting like it’s just “technical procedure.” Don’t fall for it.
