Google released an experimental AI called NotebookLM... This tool just blew my mind. The AI can ingest Links, Videos, and PDFs and it generates various outputs (similar to chatGPT). The most interesting feature is that it can generate a ~10-minute-long podcast! 🤯 The conversation feels natural, but it is all AI. 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐈 𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰? Move over Spotify hosts - Google’s AI is taking over! Well, maybe not quite yet. Recently Google’s AI assistant, NotebookLM, has been gaining buzz for its ability to turn any topic into realistic, podcast-like audio. Just as we’ve been impressed and just a tiny bit terrified by the quality of ChatGPT’s texts, the robot podcasters have been eerily convincing. Their smooth radio star voices banter back and forth with a natural eloquence and flow. At the same time their mimicry of every podcast ever does feel a touch cliché, sometimes bordering on satire. Building on the hype, Google is rolling out new features to refine the podcast’s length, format, voices, and languages. While we seriously doubt they can replace the iconoclastic personalities currently ruling the podcast realm, this tool can be deployed to communicate on a wide range of subjects (we’re thinking policy, though we hear there’s already a great episode about farts). The most eerie thing of all? When the AI host starts realising that it is, in fact AI. Though this viral clip is actually just the result of some deft prompting, our human brains could almost fall for it:
