Abstract
This presentation focuses on some of the conditions of possibility of the new didactic world that the anthropological theory of the didactic (ATD) allows us to think out of the box, namely the paradigm of questioning the world, where one inquires into the questions that one is led to consider. It attempts to mull over some of the basic notions of the ATD, and answer questions about “knowing”, schools, principal, auxiliary or induced didactic systems, and the three dimensions of the questioning of any object (its structure, its functioning, its utility). Through examples relating to the use of parameters in elementary algebra modelling, it illustrates the functional nature of knowledge. It highlights the significance of the Herbartian schema for modelling the processes of inquiry into a given question and the correlative dynamics of the didactic milieu.
