More Palestinians are dying from starvation—most of them children. Amid this humanitarian catastrophe, Israel is advancing its ground invasion, asserting its goal to besiege the entire territory. Using starvation as a weapon of war is a violation of international law. While Israel has allowed some aid trucks into Gaza, the UN describes the flow as “a drop in the ocean of what is urgently needed.” Before October 2023, more than 500 aid trucks entered Gaza daily. This is happening now, in Mawasi Rafah, south Gaza Strip, hours after the opening of the aid distribution center. News channels reported that American armed personnel fled the aid distribution point due to severe overcrowding, just hours after it opened! Really? What was expected? Starving 2 million people for 90 days, then establishing eight distribution points—one for every 300,000 people—run by armed American security companies, instead of 400 run by international and UN organizations—and for things to go smoothly?! Don't you dare say that my people are to blame for this! Don't you dare say that this is our fault! Israel politicized food and humanitarian aid, sidelined the international organizations that were responsible for ensuring the effective distribution of aid to everyone during the ceasefire, and then summoned a suspicious American company - Gaza Humanitarian Foundation- run by intelligence and military personnel and placed them on top of our blood and the rubble of our homes in Rafah! What was expected? Israel has set up only eight distribution points in the southern Gaza Strip to evacuate residents of northern Gaza who will be heading to get food and will not be able to return to northern Gaza. This, of course, entails security checks and procedures that include taking the Palestinians' eye prints, and the use of weapons by American security personnel inside Palestinian territories while supervising the distribution of humanitarian aid!
