Fire Safety

1. Does the hotel/property have an electrical fire alarm system? *

If 'No', please provide details of how you evacuate the hotel/property in the event of an emergency:

2. Which of the following best describes the type of fire alarm system you have in place in your hotel/property? *

3. Are there wired smoke detectors located in the guest bedrooms? *

4. Are there wired smoke detectors located in the corridors/hallways? *

5. Is the fire alarm/detection system and/or smoke detectors tested either by staff or qualified contractors on at least a monthly basis (i.e. the alarm/smoke detectors are activated to ensure they are working correctly)? *

If 'No', please state how regularly the fire alarm/smoke detectors are tested:

6. Does a competent, qualified fire alarm contractor carry out regular checks and annual servicing of the fire alarm/detection system and/or smoke detectors? *

If 'No', please describe what servicing procedures are in place:

7. What is the total number of stairways suitable for use in an emergency in each building? *

17. Are there ‘Action in case of fire’ signs on the back of all guestroom doors or clearly visible in all guest accommodations?

18. Are there clear exit signs (EXIT or running 'stick man' signs) throughout the escape routes and above any internal final exit doors? *

19. Is there emergency back-up lighting to illuminate escape routes and exit signage (e.g. in corridors and stairways)? *

20. Can all ground floor emergency exit doors be opened from the inside, without the use of a key (e.g. push-bar)? *
