a couple of reasons! mainly to waste their time, because for one they deserve that and two, it takes time away from the thief to rip off more people.

but also!! i thought this was a wonderful opportunity to figure out the mindset of a freebooter: their righteous mindset, a myriad of contradictions, and seeing their attitude instantly flip from all offence given to pleading for a strike to be removed at the smallest gesture of pity. it was also funny, but upsetting to remember these crooked people make a profitable hustle from the job.

"Why did you offer him so many chances to remove the strike?"

i had absolutely no genuine intent to do so, but thought the numerous offers would keep him lured into our chat. my initial offer of licensing was genuine before unraveling more of who this donny was (all I saw of their profile prior to messaging was their bio and that they had reposted my video) but i later realised it'd be very unfair to the other creators who've been ripped off for just one of us to make out with a profit whilst indirectly endorsing that kind of content theft so long as it's not my own. (i lost track of how to formulate this point and that's embarrassing knowing the host of YGS is reading this)

it's literally just a stupid little demonstration of a silly little Chrome extension i made on Twitter in 2023. no. clue why it's suddenly the subject of so many reposts two years later? it's a video i hardly care about and don't think it's worth fighting for, but this isn't about a silly lil' post i made in about a minute two years ago, this is about sending a message to freebooters to just like to away mate.

Instagram's options for retracting a copyright claim. The middle option reads "You and the other party have reached an agreement" which we absolutely did not, despite their insistence to choose that option. Shout-out to his response being "I guess the middle one" by the way.

those are (now defunct) links to a Twitter account that previously stole my video, and the account Blendi in turn stole my video from.

although i still detest those kinds of accounts and have no respect for them, i felt it was worth censoring the name because all things considered, they did respond to me very quickly and instantly took the reposts down without any hassle, deleting the repost and then messaging me to confirm it, rather than trying to haggle first.

i would also prefer to not spread their reach any further lol

i'd say credit where it's due, but they did absolutely nothing to earn that following!! the credit lies with the creators they ripped off!!!!

when he swore to give me half of the money for my video that he did absolutely nothing for, and immediately backtracked on that. i think it shows a lot about how they're so confident in their own view until told otherwise, even after an entire day of this kind of back and forth.
