If Republicans really believe abortion is immoral and every pregnancy must be carried to term, then it’s time for them to put their money where their morals are. Here’s my compromise.
We increase the tax rate in every Republican-led state by 40 percent. That money goes into a national fund to support every child born because their mother was forced to carry a pregnancy she didn’t want. That includes housing, food, education, and medical care. All of it. You want forced birth. Then you pay for the forced life that comes with it.
You don’t get to call yourself “pro-life” and then abandon the child the second it’s born. If a woman is legally required to carry a pregnancy after a man puts his cream inside her, then guess what. That’s a state-mandated service. And services require payment.
This is the cost of your ideology. Pay up.
