Out of a total of 176 students in the graduating batch of 2025 at Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMNLU), Lucknow, 30 have secured placements.

The graduating batch of 2025 of National Law University Odisha (NLUO) has secured a total of 50 placements for 80 students who participated in the recruitment process.

A total of 30 students have been placed in domestic law firms. 13 students were placed with advisory firms, banks and public sector undertakings (PSUs).

3 students were placed with policy think tanks, while 2 were awarded fellowships. 2 other students have received offers to join litigation chambers.

In addition to these, 2 students have been offered paralegal positions, and 5 students have secured admissions for higher education.

The highest package offered this year stands at ₹22.5 lakh per annum, with the average salary package reportedly at ₹14.33 lakh per annum.

Among law firms, Saraf & Partners emerged as the top recruiter with 5 offers. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Argus Partners followed with 3 offers each.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan and IndusLaw have extended 2 offers each.

Khaitan & Co, Trilegal, JSA, Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, Wadia Ghandy & Co, S&A Law Offices, Poovayya & Co, T&S Law, Bose & Mitra, Economic Law Practice, Tatva Legal, Sagus Legal and Casus Chambers have recruited 1 student each.

Corporate and in-house placements

Davies Wallis Foyster (DWF) has emerged as the leading recruiter, with 4 placement offers. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has provided 2 placements. Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) extended 2 offers each.

ICICI Bank, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Welspun Group recruited 1 student each.

Fellowships

2 students were selected for the Graduate Impact Leadership Programme at Nation with Namo. 1 student was offered the PRS Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship.

Internet Freedom Foundation awarded the Freedom Innovation Fellowship to 1 student. Varahe Analytics hired 1 student.

Litigation chambers

Chamber of Saswat Kumar Acharya and Chamber of Rishabh Dheer have made 1 offer each.

Students were also hired as paralegals at AZB & Partners and Saakshya Law.

A few students of the Batch of 2025 have secured admission to King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, University of Dubai, Symbiosis Law School, National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) to pursue higher studies.

NLU Odisha also revealed that a few students are preparing for various competitive exams such as civil services, judiciary exams, SEBI Grade A (Legal), JAG, and CAT.

The student members of the Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC) were Aditi Sinha, Ananya Gudihal, Anuj Kulhar, Chitrangda Saini, Kanishk Kaushik, Kritika Patnaik, Mohit Chand, Sachin Thakkar, Sansita Swain, Shubhangini Rathore, Soumya Sinha, Sourav Jena, Suryansh Sritej Mohanty and Suvanwesh Das.

The administrative members were Vice-Chancellor Prof Ved Kumari, Registrar Prof (Dr) Rangin Pallav Tripathy, Placement Coordinator Dr Arjyalopa Mishra and faculty advisors Dr Nikita Pattajoshi and Dr Mayank Mishra.

Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar (GNLU) has placed 117 of 130 students who registered for the University's recruitment drive.

The graduating batch of 2024 received 31 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) and 35 Day Zero Offers. The rest of the offers were made post-Day Zero.

The highest salary secured was around ₹19,80,000 per annum. The median salary of those who were placed was ₹16 lakh per annum.

Among law firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas led the recruitments, hiring 17 students, followed by Khaitan & Co, which hired 11 students. Trilegal closely followed with 10 hires. Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan hired 6 students while Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and IndusLaw hired 5 students each. AZB & Partners, DSK Legal and S&A Law Offices hired 3 students each. Argus Partners, IC Universal Legal and Saraf and Partners hired 2 students each.

Among the companies that have recruited, Adani Group led the table, hiring 7 students. GILP - Nation with Namo, Hero Motocorp, and ICICI Bank recruited 2 students each. AGL India, Ganpat University, Montecarlo Limited, National Dairy Development Board, NCCL, Sentos, STEER Group, Trine Consulting Services, Varahe Analytics, and Zydus Research Centre hired 1 student each.

One student from the 2024 graduating batch has also been selected for PRS India's Legislative Assistant to the Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship.

As per the data provided by the Placement Committee at NLIU Bhopal, 13 students had been offered PPOs while 42 students had received Day Zero offers.

Among the law firms, the leading recruiter was Desai and Diwanji and Trilegal, who have recruited 6 students each. Closely following, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas recruited 5 students.

Khaitan & Co. has hired 4 students while Saraf & Partners and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas have hired 3 students each. IndusLaw and S&A Law Offices each hired 2 students while 1 student each was hired by Argus Partners, DSK Legal, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Singhania & Co, Wadia Ghandy, and Zentrum Partners.

Among the litigation hires, 1 student was hired each by Arista Chambers, Chambers of Mittal Swaroop, and Office of Justice Amit Bansal.

Leading in corporate recruitments is Jio Finance, which hired 3 students, followed by Wipro hiring 2 students. 1 student was each hired by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), ICICI Bank and RD Constructions.

The total strength of the graduating batch of 2024 was 118, with 70 having opted for placements this year.

All 86 students who sat for placements from the graduating 2024 batch of NALSAR, Hyderabad have been placed at domestic and international firms, corporate houses, and government undertakings.

Out of the 119 students in the Batch of 2024, 86 opted to participate in the placement process. 36 students bagged pre-placement offers (PPOs) while 50 students were hired through campus recruitment.

Of these, 54 have accepted offers with Indian law firms, 3 students will be pursuing litigation chamber practice, 3 have been hired by government undertakings and 3 students have accepted training contracts at international law firms.

The highest salary offered this year is ₹59 lakh per annum by an international law firm. The average salary offered is ₹17 lakh per annum.

Among the Indian law firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas emerged as the leading recruiter with 9 hires, closely followed by Trilegal and AZB & Partners with 8 hires each.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, and IndusLaw hired 4 students each.

Argus Partners hired 3 students, while IC Universal Legal and S&R Associates hired 2 students each.

1 student each was hired by Saraf and Partners, Luthra & Luthra, Anagram Partners, J Sagar Associates, MC Legal and Poovayya and Co.

1 student each will be joining the chambers of Advocates Gautam Narayan, Prateek K Chadha and Ninad Laud.

Placements at corporate houses were led by Deloitte, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Regology, each hiring 3 students.

TATA Advanced Systems Limited, Jio Financial Services, Greenko Group and IDBI Bank have each hired 2 students.

One student each was hired by Boston Consultancy Group, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, Mudrex Inc, National Stock Exchange and Speed Infra Developers LLP.

Among government undertakings, ONGC Videsh Limited has hired 2 students, while Bharat Petroleum Corporation hired 1 student.

Apart from these, two students received vacation schemes and training contracts from Linklaters and one student from Herbert Smith Freehills.

However, some firms recruiting on campus reportedly conducted their drives without regard to inclusivity and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.

A press release issued by the University urged participating firms to improve reasonable accommodations and inclusivity for future students.

"...it has come to our attention that some aspects of the process were not sufficiently inclusive, which adversely affected candidates' experiences and hindered their recruitment. To address these issues, it is crucial for participating firms to take necessary action to improve accommodations and inclusiveness for all candidates," the release reads.

Earlier this year, few distasteful incidents of campus recruitment by firms were highlighted in the Shamnad Basheer panel discussion on Disability and Law held during the Courts and Constitution conference.
