Suzanne, a 28-year veteran of the Guardian, is an award-winning reporter who has covered war and social unrest from India to Israel to Iraq, where she was one of the few Western reporters to remain in Baghdad when the U.S. invasion began.

For the last eight years, Suzanne has been widely considered one of the top writers covering one of the biggest challenges facing the world – global climate change – as the Guardian’s U.S. environment correspondent. She navigated the politics of Congress and regulatory agencies as well as remote environments like the Arctic and Himalayas and wrote strong accountability stories about lobbying and disinformation campaigns by oil and coal companies. Previously, she embarked on such ambitious assignments such as a four-part investigation into the minds of suicide bombers.

Suzanne has also been a U.S. correspondent and an editor on the Guardian’s foreign desk and in 2007 wrote a book on Hillary Clinton.

Suzanne, who lives in the District with her husband and daughter, is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal.

Patrick, deputy national editor of Politico, is a savvy editor of policy journalism responsible for helping conceive and edit the site’s lead stories. He also helped oversee coverage of the 2016 campaign.

He was previously National Journal’s assistant managing editor focused on politics and policy. He was also a staff writer for National Journal and a reporter for Politico and Greenwire.

Patrick, who enjoys soccer, snow, swimming and science fiction, graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.

Suzanne will have primary oversight of how policy plays out across the country in areas such as energy and the environment, the economics of race and immigration, and business and workers. Patrick will have primary oversight of economic policy in Washington in areas like taxes, trade and the Fed.
