Conservative MP resigns seat so Poilievre can run in Alberta byelection

The Conservative leader lost his Ottawa-area seat in the general election to Liberal Bruce Fanjoy, a political rookie.

OTTAWA - Alberta Conservative Damien Kurek officially resigned as an MP on Tuesday — the earliest he was legally allowed to step aside.

Kurek promised just after the April election that he would vacate his seat in the Battle River—Crowfoot riding to allow Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to run in a byelection.

      I wonder how Carney would have fared had there been almost 100 names on the ballot in his stolen riding.

        PP would step down as Leader if he put his Party above his ambitions. He has failed and made many enemies in his own camp along the way - and his historically low personal favourability numbers suggest a comeback will certainly fall short. Without new and more credible leadership, the Party will not be taken seriously by the majority of Canadians that rejected it months ago.

              Winner resigns so one specially rejected by voters, can take his seat. CPC ,- always looking for new ways to lose. PP should be ashamed of himself.
