Stop looking for "benefits" and start looking for ways to help other creators.
Your problem is that you're only in it for yourself.
"What do I get outta this" isn't #ComicsGate.
GRAB AN OAR. Help other creators and join the community. And if your book is good, or if you're a charming salesperson, your book will sell fine.
