For me the camera symbol works on https://yandex.com/search?source=tabbar whereas it does not on the similar page https://yandex.com/images/search?from=tabbar that AdroZz1 mentioned some days later. Maybe it depends on the browser or the addons which page works best. For me the best one is aaronluercio's method, that is simply using yandex.ru/images instead of yandex.com/images . Then all functions are back, even the "Similar images" search. Some basic knowledge in Cyrillic letters might help though, but you don't have to be fluent.
