Anytime the industry is healthy, I’m happy. Good for Nintendo Switch 2 coming out of the gate, swinging.
Thank you for the data, Mat!
Got to ask, was Switch 2 week 1 also above the PS4's full November 2013 result?
Yes. We did not offer weekly tracking in 2013, so I had to use the full month comparable.
This is what I predicted in January
"Switch 2 is going to have the biggest week 1 in US history, selling more in 1 week than what PS4 and PS5 managed in 3. and after a month, 2 million will be bought by consumers, faster than PS4 and PS5"
Hope that pans out
Well, that's because you're really good at this stuff.
Mat - on to more important matters, when do you expect the Switch 2 story to be exhausted??
That's a lot of consoles! Launch logistics won't ever stop being remarkable.
Is there any data/info/tidbit you could share about Canada and México?
I imagine this will have the biggest month over month decline for new hardware ever given how much stock was there. Everyone who wanted one got one.
Naw, there's still plenty of people who want one that didn't get one, I think you're underestimating how popular the Switch brand is at this point. Also, Donkey Kong Bananza launches next month.
Odds that it cracks 5 million worldwide by the end of the month? Seems likely!
