You don't get to own Xorg. It belongs to the X.org foundation and community.

X.org literary hosts and runs Wayland and Weston

Xorg is dead and we killed it. And nobody regrets it.

To elaborate on this.

Xorg is dead, not abandoned. It still receives the attention of maintainers. It's goal has changed to now be as reliable as possible and to fix incoming CVEs.

To pretend you rebooting Xorg or you are a maintainer is outright disrespectful to all the existing Xorg contributors, maintainers and their wishes.

Comparisons to Keith Packard and XFree86 are especially vomit inducing.

It works wonderfully though as a reactionary honeypot. Thank you for that.

Imagine the unbelievable circumstances that had to take place for an entire community of 100 or so developers across the whole stack, to agree that x11 is a dead end and nobody be willing to ever touch it again regardless the stake they have in it.

The Xorg is dead!
Long live the Xlibre!

@alatiera the X server is released under the MIT license

@alatiera you can't own an open source project, it belongs to the public.

@alatiera it's a BIG TECH RED HAT MICRO$OFT CONSPIRACY!1!!

Every qualified developer wants to get rid of X11 because of WOKE

@brainblasted @alatiera It might actually be a benefit if those dirtbags make their own ecosystem, maybe that means they will stay a little further away from decent people doing great work that way! The harassment from fascist idiots towards great devs is insane and they are completely disconnected from any reality with their accusations and ideas! Sadly this scum often dominates the Linux world on Youtube which gives them a lot of reach for their ridicules lies.

@alatiera it's as if a massive project was relying on a legacy version control system, and realized it was such a big mess that the only option was to write a new one from scratch 🐧

@alatiera

It is astonishing how that _particular_ Venn diagram always, always, always ends up being a circle, isn't it?

@bluca Cut a basement dweller and a fascist bleeds.
