So let me get this straight. The sheriff of Brevard County, a man who probably couldn’t chase a jogger half a block, is out here threatening to kill protestors with the phrase “graveyard dead.” First off, police don’t get to act like judge, jury, and executioner. They are public servants, not execution squads. The moment they clock out, they are regular civilians like the rest of us. And the second they start making threats of violence against the people they swore to protect, they’ve lost any shred of legitimacy.
Let me be crystal clear. I live in Brevard County. I will not be intimidated by bloated bullies in a badge, especially not one issuing threats like a two-bit thug. If Sheriff Ivey is looking to escalate things with lethal force against citizens, then the same rules apply both ways. You don’t get to invoke law and order while acting like an unhinged warlord. You’re not above the people. You’re not untouchable. And you damn sure don’t get to threaten us with murder for exercising our constitutional rights.
