This demo features a Prosthetic Grade Cream (PGC) Alginate Lifecast. This footage is from our instructional DVD "lifecasting a full head" in which we create a fiberglass positive to be used as a model for a silicone head. The bald cap is glued behind the hairline to catch all the possible skin detail in the face. We incorporated the stopwatch as reference, so the student can learn how fast he needs to work before the material sets up. It takes a fair amount of skill and experience to make a full head and shoulders life cast without an assistant, however I prefer doing this part on my own so I can keep track of what is going on and I don't have to trust someone else to prevent air pockets. The lifecast from this demo came out virtually perfect, very little cleanup needed and no distortion.
