Techne is the greek goddess of art, technical skill, craft and invention.

History[]

Techne is the child of Hephaestus and Aphrodite, through a rare burst of friendliness and faithfulness from the goddess of love. She spent most of her time with her father in his forge, and loved to create things, and also loved to paint, which thrilled her mother. She did not have a particuarly interesting life. This has led to a loss of information on Techne, so even Techne herself barely remembers her early life.

Appearance[]

Although Techne can change her appearance like any other deity, she mostly uses the same look; she has wavy, mousy brown hair, blue-green eyes and a small, friendly face. Her skin is normally very pale from staying inside working all day. She almost always has her hair in a messy bun to try and keep it out of her face, but there are always flyaways that she blows at from time to time. Techne can most often be seen wearing a pair of paint-splattered, accidentally-ripped jeans, a brightly colored tank top and a cream cardigan, though when she is working she swaps the last two for an old t-shirt and a painter's smock.

Personality[]

As she is the goddess of art, craft and invention, Techne is extremely creative, but can also be perceived as eccentric to many people. She can be quite absent-minded about things that aren't a project she's working on. Techne is also often oblivious to social cues, not understanding - or even noticing - when people become frustrated with her. She is not easily angered like many other deities, but is instead easily saddened, especially when someone says that they don't enjoy her work or a piece that she likes. Her children often take on these traits, and most can be found doing creative things in their brand new cabin or the Forge.

Abilities[]

Techne has the standard abilities of a goddess, such as appearance altering, teleporting, etc, but also shares many traits with Hephaestus - she can easily create new inventions out of what seems like scrap, can master creative skills like painting and sewing, and can easily use almost any tool. She also has her own unique power - Techne can sense the emotion and thought process that goes through every piece of artwork.
