Welcome to our organization that offers health-based tools and comprehensive online workshops to assist anyone sincerely seeking to recover from sex/Love and porn addiction and/or heal from the addiction of another.

Welcome to Recovery Nation!

Your Source for Health-Based Recovery

Within this site exists recovery resources for sex addicts, love addicts and porn addicts that cannot be found anywhere else. In fact, anyone struggling with any type of sexually compulsive behavior — whether you consider it an addiction or not — can benefit from Recovery Nation. Each resource was built to assist you, your partner and/or anyone seeking to fully understand the sex, love and porn addictions in such a way as to facilitate a permanent recovery and/or healing process.

Few issues in our society are as misunderstood, mismanaged and mistreated as is the current approach to the sex, love and/or porn addictions. Much too often, people equate sex addiction with the more extreme behaviors like molestation, rape, stalking, voyeuring and exhibitionism. But just as debilitating and far more common are the sexual behaviors involving things like porn, compulsive masturbation, affairs, promiscuity, etc. Tragically, the shock, fear, confusion, disgust and ignorance that drives the perceptions of sexual addiction takes the primary role in guiding the recovery response as well. This applies equally to those engaging in compulsive sexual behavior and their partners. And even many who treat them.

This community exists to help you help yourself. It offers a comprehensive foundation of health-based education; a sincere community to provide objectivity and support; professional coaching for those who seek a more intensive, personal approach to recovery and/or healing; and, the collective thoughts and experiences of thousands who have been where you are now.

What types of compulsive behavior does Recovery Nation serve? Though these online support workshops can be applied to any compulsive behavior or addiction, those involving pornography addiction, sexual addiction, love addiction and Internet addiction are paramount. In terms of specific sexual rituals, those involving compulsive masturbation, pornography, promiscuity, multiple affairs, prostitution, romantic stalking, molestation, rape, sexual-identity crisis, sexual anorexia, compulsive online dating, voyeuring, exhibitionism, sexual fetish and similar behavior are explored.

Health-Based Recovery NOT Disease-Based Recovery

Recovery Nation is a Health-Based Recovery site. This means that the focus of your efforts will be on issues involving value development, life management skills, emotional maturity, etc. This, as opposed to the more traditional disease-based model that is geared towards managing one’s addiction, rather than one’s life. That does not mean that you will not be focusing on the compulsive behavior — quite the contrary. By the end of the workshop, you will have developed a functional understanding of addiction that will allow you to put both addiction and recovery within the scope of a direct transition to health. It doesn’t matter if what is being shared makes any sense to you now, should you continue on through the workshops — it will.

Also, it does not mean that those in a program such as SLAA, SAA, SA or the like cannot benefit from the Recovery Nation workshops. The insights and tools offered are intended as supplemental resources for those already in an established twelve-step recovery program. As well, for those not interested in the twelve steps that are seeking a comprehensive, stand-alone addiction recovery program.

Recovery Nation offers many resources for you to use in your transition to health. Beyond the comprehensive workshops, there are checklists that allow you to easily track your progress from addiction to health, and a personal health assessment that can be repeated at different times throughout the recovery process to objectively measure change. Additionally, community support is available from those who have been where you are now — either as a person seeking to end your addiction or a partner seeking to understand how to survive the addiction of another.

But, and this is critical, no matter how valuable these tools will be in your recovery, it will be you who must provide the sincerity and the effort for real change to occur. You must challenge yourself to go beyond ‘following’…and take on the role of leading yourself through this transition. This goes for both partners and those in recovery. You each have very different paths to follow — but both lead to the same destination: health.

If you think you might like to get started in recovery from addiction, healing as a partner of someone with an addiction, or in healing together as a couple then we invite you to now read the Orientation Page.

Want to Help Support Recovery Nation & Our Mission?

Please consider making a donation to help support RN’s monthly expenses, expansion and project development. Jon had very specific projects that will allow us to reach so many more people with Health-Based Recovery. These projects require programmers, marketing, publishing etc.

We also offer scholarships to those who may need these memberships, but can’t afford them. We want everyone who needs access to have it, and your donations are a big part of how we can accomplish this! If you would like to help in these endeavors and learn more about how you can, please click on the button below. Thanks!
