Floatplane is an affordable video platform that will allow creators to diversify their revenue sources and connect with their audiences.
There's no sign up required, new features will be available on beta.floatplane.com before they hit the main site. If you notice any bugs, or would like to submit feedback, you'll find a red button on the bottom left of your screen to do so!
The PewPew emote was as an account reward for users who had successfully set up a payment method on Floatplane.com before January 1st 2019.
The LTX emote was given to all users who had an active subscription on Floatplane.com before the start of LTX 2019 (2019-06-26)
Watching 4K videos on Floatplane is not an issue on any modern browser, including Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. If a quality level that you should be receiving doesn’t appear for a video, the creator may simply have not uploaded at that resolution for that video.
Each creator is able to define their own subscription plans with different feature levels and costs. Please refer to a creator's channel page for information regarding their subscription plans.
Because all charges on the platform are in USD, your bank might apply currency conversion or other foreign transaction fees on top of listed subscription rates.
Once an OG always an OG! If you choose to upgrade or happen to lose access to that plan (payment failure), it will always be listed as a subscription option.
At this time, we do not have the capabilities to support recurring credit card payments from India. In the meantime, one may have better luck using PayPal for Floatplane transactions.
We are working to alleviate this issue, but at this time payments will need to be handled each month in order to maintain access.
The mobile app does not currently support 3rd party login. If you wish to create a unique login for Floatplane, the easiest way to break that method and switch to a username & password would be to log out and use the "Forgotten your password?" link to request a new password. This will create a dedicated site pass and allow you to sign into the app.
Background play is on the development roadmap but does not have an ETA for release.
Unfortunately, this is an Apple annoyance... Users will need at least one active subscription to login and use the app since we can't very well display nothing. We also can't collect payments on iOS due to lack of support for 3rd-party payment solutions (Stripe, PayPal).
