Dear Dr. Gridlock:

My complaint regards poor engineering on the Prince William Parkway.

A properly engineered 55 mph highway has curves with a constant radius and banking toward the inside of the curve, which can be negotiated with very little steering input from the driver.

Unfortunately most of the curves of the serpentine Prince William Parkway are not engineered that way. Many lack any banking and in some cases slope dangerously in the opposite direction, toward the outside of the curve. This leaves no margin for error.
