(October 20, 2015) Atlantic County, New Jersey - Shocking video posted on Facebook shows moment a thug knocks a homeless woman unconscious in public park
A 25-year-old New Jersey man was arrested after a sickening video surfaced on Facebook showing the moment he knocked out a homeless middle-aged woman in broad daylight.
Iben hunter, whose name has also been spelled Ibn, was taken into custody in Atlantic City Monday morning on an aggravated assault charge stemming from the Friday attack.
Police got a call Saturday about an assault that took place a day earlier at Brown's Park at Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Baltic Avenue.
A detective investigating the case then learned that the assault was captured on video and posted Saturday afternoon on a Facebook page belonging to the user Bdsb BroadDay, who is believed to be the person who shot the footage.
The grainy recording, which has since been shared on YouTube and LiveLeak, shows the suspect, identified as Iben Hunter, standing in front of the seated victim, waving his arms around and yelling at her before taking a swing and punching the woman in the face with a closed fist, causing her to fall backwards unconscious.
'Bing!' the man recording the attack is heard exclaiming off camera as Hunter throws the punch.
Afterwards, Hunter launched into an expletive-laden tirade saying that's what happens when someone says he isn't going to hit them.
A closeup of the unconscious victim is then seen, with a red bruise on her left eye.
The 45-year-old victim, who has not been named, later regained consciousness and on Monday was discharged from AtlantiCare.
Hunter was ordered held on $100,000 bail at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where according to Press of Atlantic City, his legal troubles continued Monday.
Hunter allegedly attacked a corrections officer at the jail while being strip searched late last night.
The unnamed officer was eventually able to restrain the belligerent inmate, whose mugshot shows him with a bloody bruise on his forehead, which he sustained when he hit the floor.
Hunter is now facing an additional count of assault on a law enforcement officer.
Records obtained by Press of Atlantic City show that the 25-year-old has a lengthy rap sheet, including five convictions on drug and theft charges.
Meanwhile, police are looking to talk to the Facebook user who posted the video of the violent attack. His page has since been deleted.
