Jealousy's Book: Chapter IV is the fourth and final chapter of Jealousy's Book in The Mimic. The story continues with the protagonist, Isamu Uchiumi, exploring a darker version of The City, riddled with most of the members of the Kiiroibara Cult.

Storyline

You escaped hell, but now all hell breaks loose.
— The description of Chapter IV.

The Spiritual Hallway

Isamu finds himself in a dark hallway which looks like a cave seemingly made of mud, and hears a voice calling out to him saying "Wake up". He follows a floating light, to enter a room with a samurai similar to Kusonoki. According to the subtitles, his name is Ashikaga. He tells Isamu that the Shiroi Honō — The White Flame — is the key to kill Enzukai and their cult followers but warns him that it can also consume the unworthy, so Isamu should be wise about its power. Before handing out the lantern to Isamu, he was ambushed by Enzukai and took the lantern before we could wake up.

Kawasaki Ward & Isamu's Workplace

Isamu wakes up to find himself back in Kawasaki Ward and is accompanied by Ashikaga as a spirit. Ashikaga says he can't be killed since Enzukai only killed his illusion/physical body and tells Isamu to hide somewhere before Enzukai slams the ground, signaling its arrival. Throughout the road, Isamu has to hide inside vans to evade Enzukai all while he makes a run towards his office building.

Upon entering the building, he finds himself in the parking area. He was peculiar to the sound of silence for a building inside a city on a supernatural warfare, and mumbles "I should probably head to the 6th floor and check for anything useful." He heads to the sixth floor and when he opens the door, he finds his boss, Mr. Ishitoku, lying on the floor impaled by a couple of rebars. Isamu tries to contact help through the telephone, but his boss stops him, telling him it's busted. His boss also suggests that he should go the mall since the building didn't collapse yet, and that he might find something there, but also warns him of the Hyakki Yagyō's rampage.

Isamu, being the detective that he is, deciphers a code from the other side of the office by going through floors from the sixth floor down to the first. He eventually cracks the code and has access to the shovel which he uses to dig out the rubble out of the roof door. When Isamu heads out of the door, he finds a piece of the Shiroi Honō and he asks Ashikaga more about himself. The spirit states that he's one of Kusonoki Masashige's brothers-in-arms who fought against the beasts, and he already knows who Isamu is, and he makes him hasten up as they don't have much time, and so, Isamu climbs down the ladder and descends into a mall.

The Destroyed Mall

Isamu finds himself inside the mall and wanders about until he finds a corpse with a walkie-talkie. He interacts with it and receives a static silence from the other end. He tries the other ones until he finally got a from a working walkie-talkie. The walkie-talkie then sends a message that warns everyone to not stay inside the mall. Following what the announcer had said, Isamu tries to run back to the door he came from but was cut off by Kyogi and we, the player, see Rin, Mio, and Tsukiya popping out on the other floors. Kyogi tries to run after Isamu, but Isamu manages to hide inside a trash can.

Throughout the lower/ground floor, he has to punch all the eyes around the floor — and some on the middle floor — to briefly stun Kyogi and try to retrieve the speaker in one of the rooms. Upon carrying the speaker to the middle floor, he is then chased by Rin who can somehow hear him carrying a powered-off speaker. Isamu has to drop it before descending back to the escalator. His new task is to get the coins for the carnival on the left side and lead Rin there in order for Mio, Rin's sister, to get distracted by the attraction. Upon completion, he carries the speaker to the third floor. Tsukiya hears him and starts running after him, but when Isamu turns on the speaker, she is gagged and unable to move. He grabs the opportunity to get a piece of the Shiroi Honō and runs to the door.

Upon escaping, he now has to run away from the entire cult, who rushes after him, while the other ones try to cut him off by popping out of walls and halls as the building is collapsing. After a while of cat and mouse, Isamu falls into the floor when we see Chihiro reading a book as she vibes to J-pop. After a few seconds, the entire cult comes back and chases after him. Eventually, Isamu finds an open elevator and rushes inside. As he rests from all the running, the Tsushima sisters, Tsukiya, Kyogi and some of the other cult members barge through the elevator doors and are trying to break inside the elevator, but Isamu eventually shuts them out.

The elevator takes him to another parking spot and finds a broken car. He finds the missing parts for it, which are conveniently placed inside the same area. Upon fixing the car, Chihiro pops out of nowhere and tries to make him play another game. Isamu declines it at first, until she pulls out a piece of the Shiroi Honō, making him the game. As a player of The Mimic, you must answer all the riddles correctly, or else "Mother" would decapitate you. Some are connected to Control's Book, and some are just made-up riddles. There are times that the answers might switch with each other, so tap/click with precaution. After the game of riddles, Chihiro gives the piece to Isamu before both her and her mother disappear. Afterwards, Isamu rides off with the repaired car and drives off to the rural parts of the city.

The Temple

After Chihiro's game, Isamu drives to a rural part of the city with houses. He opens the door, just to see Senzai ask him "Little brother, where are you hiding?". After that, Isamu gets ink, gets an orchid, purifies it with purification water, blesses it, draws a symbol that is on the seal, and then places it on a pillar. He repeats this a total of 4 times while avoiding Kutsu and Senzai.
