PARMA, MO (KFVS) - Two juveniles are in custody in connection with the fire at the old school in Parma Friday night.
According to the Parma Police chief, the juveniles face arson charges.
The entire old high school gym is a total loss, and is now in rubble.
The blaze also destroyed the old Parma High School.
The state fire marshall investigated the fire on Saturday.
There is some good news as the blaze didn't spread to the old high school cafeteria, or the old elementary school which currently housed the Head Start program.
The Director of the Children's Services Department tells Heartland News since the building housing the head start wasn't affected, classes will resume Monday morning.
No one was injured.
Several fire departments responded to the fire.
City leaders would like to thank all those who responded, saying their efforts helped stop the fire from spreading any further.
