It's National Hamburger Day. Here's where to get Houston deals on the All-American classic.

It is National Hamburger Day in the U.S. and restaurants across the land have deals on the All-American classic. 

National Day Calendar which keeps track of fun, unique and sometimes quirky national days lists May 28 as National Hamburger Day. Its exact origins are unknown but May 28 is thought to have been picked for its proximity to the Memorial Day weekend and the start of summer.

It is also National Hamburger Month. 

Here are places in the Houston area to score a hamburger deal Wednesday. 

Hopdoddy's Hoppy Meal 

Hopdoddy with multiple locations across Houston is unwrapping this year’s limited-edition Hoppy Meal. It is available through Saturday and while supplies last. It includes a burger, fries, a Coke, mini bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey and the "treat" is a Hopdoddy flask. 

This offer is dine-in only and in limited quantities. Hopdoddy has locations in Webster, Stafford, Richmond, The Woodlands, Cypress and inside Houston's 610 Loop. 

FM Kitchen and Bar 

Neighborhood bar and restaurant FM Kitchen and Bar is serving up $5 burgers for National Burger Day. They have extended their weekly $5 burger Tuesday one more day to celebrate the national listing today. It is at 1112 Shepherd Drive, Houston. 

Monkey's Tail  

Monkey's Tail bar is offering 99 cent Chango Burgers today. 

"I think we could all use a little good news. Wednesday we are slangin 99 cent Chango Burgers all day. Bring a friend and stack em up," the restaurant posted on its Facebook page. 

The limit is two per person. It's at 5802 Fulton Street in Houston.

Other Houston spots with burger specials today include Arnaldo Richards’ Picos Restaurant, Christian's Tailgate locations, Heights & Co., Jethro’s on Tuam, The Original Ninfa’s has a Fajita Burger and a $10 Burger Combo from The Pit Room on Richmond Avenue.

Burger King 

Royal Perks loyalty program members can get a free hamburger with purchase of $1 or more on the BK app. Members can also get a burger for 125 crowns, half the normal amount, through Saturday.

Wendy's 

From May 28 to June 1, you can get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for 1 cent with any purchase by using an offer in the Wendy's app, as reported by USA Today.

Dairy Queen 

This whole week, fans can buy any Dairy Queen Signature Stackburger and score a second for 99 cents. This offer is available on any of the five Signature Stackburgers, made with 100% real seasoned beef and stacked with their own signature ingredients.
