I’m done trying to reason with people who keep voting against their own interests. I’ve sent letters, actual written letters, to these Florida Republican senators about Medicaid and Medicare cuts. I’ve filed bar complaints, including one against Pam Bondi, knowing full well nothing will come of it while she’s protected in federal office. I’ve done my part. I’m one person. I’m not going to keep wasting time calling offices that don’t respond or pretending my voice matters when their job is to ignore us until the next election cycle. These senators know they have six years to do whatever they want without consequences.
And to those saying not all Floridians voted for Republicans, let’s be honest. Most of them either voted for Republicans or chose not to vote at all because they refuse to support Democrats. If they lose their benefits, their Social Security, their Medicare, their Medicaid, why should I care anymore? I tried. I reached out. I warned them.
If people really want change, they need to start talking to their neighbors and communities. But no one wants to do that because it takes time and energy, and people don’t listen. So let it all burn. Let Republicans cut everything. Let their own base suffer the consequences. When their people with guns start losing their healthcare and retirement, that’s when the real political violence will happen. And it will be MAGA turning on MAGA. Let them destroy themselves.
