I can't help but laugh at the possibility that Yoichi could've become a villain without realizing it. Imagine if they never found those comics and Yoichi just doesn't realize that some of the stuff he does is villainous because he only had his big brother as an example.

My only theory for that is he was scared and overwhelmed by the sudden new environment and reached for the one familiar thing he knew. But he'd also lord his status as "elder twin by 5 seconds" over Yoichi's head every chance he gets.I think Yoichi would alternate between wanting to be grown up and left alone (partly due to AFOs clinginess and "Well, I'm the older twin" stuff) and only admit he's younger when it's convenient. Like if they're playing a board game that says the youngest goes first.And the clinginess definitely led to Yoichi being adventurous and subsequently getting into huge trouble. I imagine it like the myth of Phaethon. Except, instead of scorching the earth he tries to pick fights with bullies who are twice his size and ends up getting really hurt.Which is where AFOs BSS kicks in and he successfully beats them up for hurting his brother. It manifests in other ways too, but I'm going to assume they have a good mother raising them (or at least, one who doesn't hurt Yoichi, 'cuz AFO would kill her if she did) so yeah, it's not going to be as severe as canon if someone else is playing the main caretaker role. AFO's BSS would show in him helping his brother with homework, comforting him, defending him, and helping him clean if he ever broke something followed by helping him desperately cover it up. (He got a can to the head though)Yoichi got love in the way toddler's know. Stuff. AFO was forced to sacrifice for his brother, be called names, had people attempt to murder him, and more while Yoichi had it easier. I'm pretty sure the only reason AFO doesn't resent his brother is because he didn't know that's not how it's supposed to be. Well, that and he saw his brother as an object. Something to take good care of and defend, but not something that's equal to you. When you're poor, you take good care of the things you have because you might not be able to get another one. Kudo was going to start in nonsense and Bruce just dealt with that. Also something I noticed when looking back at the images here; Bruce has bandages on his arms in the void. But not when he faced AFO in the sewers. Were he and Kudo cutting their arms open in their experimenting over Yoichi's theory? Is this why Kudo has two gauntlets instead of his one? Why we never see his bare arms in the void? That he always keeps his arms down so there's no slip? Is smart enough to run blood tests, plus has enough common sense to pick Shinomori as his successorHe picked a guy who avoids society, has an Ability to detect danger so he can always stay away from AFO, is also a coward so he's never going to go throw himself into danger, even without knowing instinctively he stands no chance, etc. Meanwhile, Kudo chose Bruce, who he played Hot Potato Yoichi with; but he did also trust Bruce, and put the only pure combative Ability in OFA through Bruce. These two made their choices based on what they valued and saw the Factor needed. Is logical, analytical, and calm. He tried advising Midoriya on their Abilities in One For All, especially his own. Midoriya then tried ignoring him about using Fa Jin for the first time, but found he was right, thinking: "Dammit!! I had [Lady Nagant] right where I wanted her, but... ugh! The Third was right. My parallel Quirk processes are all screwed up!" (ch. 314). Plus, when Midoriya fixed his processing mistakes, Bruce was analyzing the way he reached his new conclusion. Pure facts, no bias, very calm, just saying it as it was. We never see him panic. When he's caught by surprise in the sewers by AFO, Kudo, and Yoichi's little bubble event, he immediately reacts. He doesn't falter, he just knows he has to do something right now.Was more willing to listen than Kudo to Yoichi's beckon, and probably was just following Kudo's rejection of Midoriya While we don't see Kudo's face, we see Bruce's eyes when Yoichi calls on his heroes. Bruce was more open and receptive, or at least more impacted.Bruce was also the one to start talking, while Kudo just kept quiet. He actually communicates a lotWhen Yoichi called them to support Midoriya, Bruce started talking to paint a picture of why they thought the way they did, so Yoichi understood where they were coming from. (Though he seems to beat about the bush sometimes, since Kudo spoke up to be direct on how they couldn't just put their trust in some starry-eyed teenager. Plus, when Kudo tells him to just tell him what's wrong [double Factors])When Midoriya first used Fa Jin against Nagant, Bruce came out just to tell him he knew what he was trying, but that Midoriya wasn't ready; and Midoriya found he was right. Midoriya just didn't want to listen to him then. He asks Kudo for clarification after finding Kudo had two Factors in him after the sewer incident ("Just to be sure, All For One didn't touch you, right?") Kudo knew him well enough to go "stop beating around the bush and tell me", so Bruce was probably gonna start with questions, theories, and trying to understand everything in general, before saying "yeah you have two Factors. Don't know why". Is strong-willed and loyal. He followed Kudo, even to death, carrying on the cause he started until it ended with him. Plus, when talking about how AFO needs a strong will to override OFA's own, we first see Bruce, Kudo, and Yoichi. AFO couldn't steal OFA because the will was too strong for him, and that was back during Banjo's time. Since Shinomori never actually tried opposing AFO and just hid, we can assume the first Three (Yoichi, Kudo, Bruce) already had an accumulation of strong willpower that made OFA un-stealable. Those three are a strong enough foundation, and the main wills, that the other users just become bonuses. Kudo, also saying that Midoriya needs allies with the same will and drive as him... hey Kudo, you're talking about yourself and your old allies, aren't you? That's why you look at Yoichi and Bruce when you say this.Not only is Bruce attractive, but he's got good character. THE END. #mha bruce#third one for all holder#You know what? fractiflosTo celebrate finishing Moondrop, it is now time for me to talk about other AUs that I hope to eventually get to. I've got too many other things right now. Well, I'll just be talking about the ones I haven't talked about here. But a quick honorable mention to the Frankenstein and Ice King AUs.Anyway...Jane Eyre AU - In which Inko is Jane, AFO is Mr. Rochester, and Garaki is Bertha. (Jane Eyre is my favorite 1800s novel)Actually, this one isn't serious, just a joke for the Ides of March that I forgot to put on here, but AU where the vestiges are senators and AFO is a dictator. Then they all team up to stab him to death, including Yoichi. AFOs last words are "Et tu, Yoichi?"AU where All Might could see the vestiges. But they're getting sick of him not taking care of himself (though he is a bit better about it due to being able to speak to Nana) and try to think of a way to help him somehow (especially Yoichi and Nana because they feel the guiltiest about what happened). So, when a chance to help him get a date comes up, you bet they take it. Sadly, much like in Ghastly Advice their dating advice is terrible and shenanigans ensue.Pokémon AU - I stayed up all night trying to world build and I still haven't gotten all their teams yet, but here's what I do have.Yoichi manages to catch an Eevee that just couldn't seem to evolve while AFO got (I haven't thought of a Pokémon for him yet) and both Yoichi and his eevee got vaulted. Then sometime after being rescued it evolves into a Sylveon. But after he dies, it mysteriously goes back to being an Eevee. Second takes care of it, and it somehow evolves into a Flareon without the use of a fire stone. He and Third run some tests and (I haven't figured out why the Eevee is so weird yet. Or a name for it. Maybe One For All?). Anyway, the eevee is passed down and evolves into a differently every time then goes back to being and eevee. Third gets a Vapereon, Hikage a Leafeon, Banjo a Jolteon, En an Umbreon, Nana a Glaceon, and Toshinori an Espeon.Anyway, there aren't quirks, it's just a universe with Pokémon. All Might's Espeon has gone mysteriously missing after a fight with AFO. At the same time, 9-year-old Deku would find an Eevee that just couldn't seem to evolve (which what sets off the bullying in this AU). He meets All Might (who is the Pokémon champion in Japan) and they train for 10 months so he can get into UA. In this AU, you have to go to a Pokémon school if you want a Pokémon-specific job. Izuku and Katsuki both want to be the next champion, but not everyone at UA does. For instance, Ochako wants a Pokémon license so she can get a team of Pokémon to help her parents construction company.You can only have 3 Pokémon max. Your own starter and one from each parent. Any more require a Pokémon license or you have to go through a long government process to explain why you should have the Pokémon. If you don’t have a license, you may not use them for commercial purposes (so like, helping you at your job, or non-paid battling). And as I said, there is a chance that the receptor could die as well.Wow, I wasn't expecting to be asked for my thoughts on this question!(Before I answer, I should say I haven't actually read those chapters, I just saw the leak translations on here because I don't know where everyone else is able to read it.)Anyway, I do think that they managed to get a little milk. ShigaMom hadn't been dead for too long, so she still had some, which is why Baby For One bit her breast, to get to the milk. Plus, he was strong enough to carry Yoichi, so he might've helped him get the milk on the other breast, as Baby Yoichi still should've been able to smell her.But, that wouldn't have lasted long.I'm of the belief that someone found two newborns suckling on their dead mom and thought, "I should get these children to a hospital". So, the milk helped them hold on for a little bit until someone came and called an ambulance or something and they were taken care of. From there, I say they got abandoned once people realized the white hair was there to stay, about 2-3 maybe. And I can see AFO not wanting to admit someone other than him cared for Yoichi as the scene seemed to be his POV (but his thought process is a different topic).However, I do have a very stupid theory that I can't get out of my head, so thank you for giving me the excuse to talk about it. Very interested in that.I'll start with the second thing since it leads up to the first question. Yoichi went crazy due to the crown and started freezing the things he liked to keep them forever. So, he started freezing things like animals, trees, lamps, basically everything. Kudou and Bruce went to stop him and kind of succeeded. They managed to snap him out of killing everything but he was still crazy, it was just more like regular Ice King crazy. Once they got him to calm down, they started trying to get him to take off the crown, but because it had AFO's essence in it, he's super possessive over it and just thinking about taking it off made him mad, so he froze them. At that point, Hikage distracted him and made him chase him all the way to the woods, where Yoichi lost sight of him, but when he went back, Kudou and Bruce were gone.Here's where the first question is answered. AFO took them, thawed them out, and used their amnesia against them to make them work for him. To keep them from remembering, he even lied about their names and changed them to Niji and Mitsu. They do run into Yoichi a few times (who has changed his name to Ice King since that's what everyone calls him and he can't remember his real name) but neither of them remember the other. Only Hikage knows what they used to be. But all 3 of them are going to end up back together and they're going to stay that way. No matter what. So, not really as doomed a romance as Simon and Betty because I couldn't handle that.Fun Bonus: Kudou and Bruce used the argument of "Frozen meat still goes bad" to get Yoichi to realize why freezing everything was bad. Hmmm... possible foreshadowing?Anyway, thank you for the kind ask :D Having people ask about AUs is really fun. fractiflosOkay, AFO is tall because he got Yoichi's nutrients, but now I'm wondering how tall he could be. He was clearly malnourished as a child and yet, he grew to be like 7'4 (over 2 meters). So, either his childhood somehow had 0 impact on his height, or he could've been like 10 ft (3 meters) tall if he had his nutritional needs met.#okay maybe 10ft is an exaggeration but I do wonder how tall he and Yoichi would be#and also how short he would be if he didn't steal the nutrients#I root for the average male height in Japan 'cuz you ain't special#all for one

fractiflosI thought a bit more about an Ice King Yoichi AU.Inspired by this artHe'd be obsessed with kidnapping heroes instead of princesses and while he seems to go after OFA holders 5-8 more often he kidnaps other heroes too. Izuku and Katsuki are the ones who rescue them but are sometimes joined by other students depending on the hero. (Like Shinsou would go if Eraserhead got kidnapped and Monoma if Vlad King got kidnapped). 2 & 3 are supposedly dead while Hikage is the Marceline of this AU. Yoichi was like a father to him and he put on the crown because the ice powers it gave him allowed him to pull his own weight and protect his heroes and Lil' Hikage.The crown was infused with a bit of AFOs power which is why it drove Yoichi crazy. It was an experiment where AFO thought that he could save energy by having magical (AKA quirked) items to use (he was watching a lot of magical girl anime at the time). He decided on ice since he had a lot of quirks that the Himura family paid him to take. He decided it was too much trouble to plan ahead on whether or not he'd need the crown for every battle, so he ordered it to be disposed of, which is how Yoichi eventually found it and put it on. In the end, his appearance and personality changed so much that AFO doesn't recognize him. He also doesn't recognize the crown because he forgot about it once the experiment was deemd a failure. Yoichi is constantly feeling like there's something he needs to remember but he ignores it.The timeline: Everyone is born earlier into the more tumultuous time of the Dawn of Quirks. Yoichi passed down OFA to Kudou before finding the crown (in fact, that's why he kept putting it on in the first place, so he could be helpful). Hikage only had OFA for a little bit before passing it onto Banjo because the reminder of Yoichi was too painful. However, once Toshinori got it, they realized that he still had some connection to OFA and that's why he kept going after OFA holders. So, now they all take turns getting it and subsequently kidnapped.It was assumed that Second and Third were dead because Yoichi remembers freezing them and Hikage saw it happen (Third passed it on a little before that). Turns out, they managed to get thawed out but lost their memories. AFO found them and decided to make them his personal servants.A bit more to this, but then it would be too long.
