In a Yami x Boogeyman scenario, I think that “forcing Yoichi to confront the fact that he’s so far from heroic that any claims of heroism are honestly kind of sad and pathetic” would be part of a penalty game type thing, or maybe a Shadow Game similar to Bakugo’s? Something that plays into Yoichi’s hypocrisy and delusions of moral superiority

That does sound like what Yami would do

Anonymous asked:

Yami AU x Kith And Kin AU:

Sakura probably has her hands full dealing with Izuku’s regular shenanigans and Yami’s Millennium Puzzle related shenanigans (Shadi at Hosu).

It occurs to me that her powers are on theme for this

Yami X Hustle and Bust. By the end, Izuku has all the Millennium Items, the god cards, OFA, a good chunk of AFO (Won in a shadow game), a ton of money, voting stock in Industrial Illusions, and a little sister. And he still has no idea what Duel Monsters is.

Checks out.

Minor issue with the Yami AU: Day to Day, I can see Izuku getting away with wearing the Millennium Puzzle, and even when he's wearing his Hero uniform, but a huge bulky necklace that doesn't do anything (from the outside) Isn't getting into the Sports Festival. Things like Aoyama's belt are necessary for quirk function, and Mei built her support gear herself. And since the "user" of the puzzle needs to be touching it to tag in Yami, SF may just be canon.

iirc, the scale of the Millennium Puzzle changed during the art shift between OG Yugioh and Yugioh Duelist. It was always a bulky pyramid, but it was smaller in OG than it appears later on. Yugi also performs several athletic maneuvers while wearing the puzzle, like the falling block room.

Anonymous asked:

Yami AU x Kith And Kin AU: This might be a bit much, but I’m wondering if the things that made Sakura willing to give Yami a chance were:

1. Protecting Midoriya from the Sludge Villain

2. Giving Bakugou a Penalty Game

The first one, definitely. The second one, well, she'd have to evaluate it based on what the penalty game was. He gets a pass this time

Anonymous asked:

Yami AU x Kith And Kin AU: How would Sakura feel about Yami?

She'd be furious about him possessing Izuku but Yami didn't really mean for this to happen and is at least trying to take care of him so she'll let it slide but he's on thin ice.

In Yami au, when blackwhip happens and Yami takes over the cross class competition, does Yani have access to blackwhip or to one for all? Or does he kick ass with his own hands and magic?

Avatar

Yami cannot use One For All. In the snippet with Nighteye, that's the reason OFA suddenly shuts down

Yami question: which Dynasty is Atem from? The manga has him from the 18th Dynasty, implying he ruled in the messy period right before Tutankhamon (and conveniently explaining the entire mess with Akhenaton's rule and why the reaction to his "heresy" took years after his death to manifest, we don't have the full picture and there's apparently TWO pharaohs between Akhenaton and Tut. Three if Seti managed to rally things and get crowned before Ay took over), while the anime states he was from about five thousands years before the series, putting him in the right time range for the Seventh Dynasty (that Egyptologists aren't really sure even actually existed) and the absolute mess of the early First Intermediate Period.

I'm going to be honest: I'm not worrying about it. Being specific with things like that can ironically make them seem less plausible. Case in point, canon yugioh being specific indicates Yami being from two different eras.

Yami x Miracle: According to the original French, the "Ladybug Goddess" appeared in Akhenaton's time and may have ended him. According to the manga, Atem reigned right between Akhenaton and Tutankhamon.

Sounds like someone's about to meet an old friend...

Millennium Yoyo

Anonymous asked:

Yami AU: As creepy as the One For All Vestiges find Yami, I imagine that they would be shocked to learn just how he came to be infused into the Millennium Puzzle.

Yeah honestly Kul Elna is alarmingly similar to the kind of thing All For One would do

Yami x Manager Toga: Alternatively, she doesn't even clue into Yami because she ALSO randomly has weird mood swings and gaps in her memory (cough cough malnutrition cough) so hey maybe this is just a Totally Normal Teenager Thing that happens to everyone! And meanwhile both Izuku AND Yami are both just getting increasingly alarming vibes from her. Eventually Yami is trying to convince Izuku to just mind crush her parents and be done with it.

Avatar

To clarify, this is what I meant by "Accidentally"

Yami x Manager Toga: Toga is so busy trying to be normal and go Plus Ultra with her job that she doesn't even notice or think to question why her kouhai sometimes randomly gets way more serious and intense, or occasionally has random bouts of amnesia. She manages to win over Yami right away though when she sees him in action one time and then shows up the next day with a giant binder full of all the most popular and marketable games that he could use as part of his 'hero persona'.

Avatar

Amazing. Accidentally bribed an ancient spirit of darkness

Yami au (back to me lol. As i was typing the previous one you answered my followup)

But again what does it / his reaction look like to outsiders? Lets reuse the 'Yagi in Hospital Bed' idea. What would Yagi or Recovery Girl (if we want a 'outside perspective , not even the target') be for like in the following , say , 15 minutes?

And the whole 'cant control his Quirk anymore' is that just in regards to no fastforwarding and rewinding , or does he not even get to choose the target ever again...

Or atleast at first?

Like cuz he already used it on Midoriya that day it will just go back to showing Midoriyas Pov in *that* future (starting at whatever equivalent time it would be Post Stamp Battle) till it runs out in 3 months. Once it DOES runout he COULD theoretically choose to shake Mirios hand and reactivate it (but like , why would he other than stubborness)

Avatar

I'm not sure I actually had any thoughts regarding any of this when I conceived his Penalty Game since I was focused on making it ironic and appropriate the way Yami does. So no, Nighteye cannot choose a target anymore. He simply sees the future at all times. To outsiders, Nighteye appears to struggle with seeing certain things. Street layout is roughly the same but the crowd of people on the sidewalk are all completely different, for example.

Yami au followup (may have followup followup)

Is he able to rewatch / rewind a second time in case he missed something? Or does it just continuously play?

So like , he *could* use it again.... just not for another few months?

Man i really wanted to mess with the complication of compounding reels. It be REALLY funny if he uses it on person A and sees they meet with person B on the weekend , but then the next day he uses it on person B (while the first reel is only 1% through apparently if 'a few months' means 3) and they never meet person A AT ALL in those 3 months.

1 reel showing them scheming together at noon on Sunday , (then potentially paused) while the other fastforwards to showing them doing fucking groceries alone and weighing which brand of pasta to buy at noon on Sunday

And how would it look like to him cuz i cant decide if its a 'overlay around the real world , near the edge sure but still prominent' , a 'experiencing the vision and the real world simultaneously , all the time' or a 'straight up seeing through the *targets* eyes and oblivious to HIS surroundings. I.e he uses on Yagi while hes in the hospital , fastforwards and sees that in 3 days he goes and takes a vacation in the Bahamas. If he *then* tries to take a step forward, instead of feeling the sand on his feet and sun on his skin , he WILL promptly trip over Yagis hospital bed and flop like a fish while also strolling down a beach with no obstacles'

Then as mentioned , depending on which of the above (or other) it is, how would it look to an outsider cuz to me its *some* mix of ' him constantly cutting himself off , head on a swivel in random directions , responding to questions not voiced or heard and staying perfectly still for extended periods'

Avatar

Nighteye no longer has any control over his Quirk. I wasn't picturing him as seeing out of the target's eyes because he can't really pick a target anymore. I don't actually think Nighteye's Quirk has sound in it so he wouldn't be hearing the future, only seeing it. It's basically blindness with extra steps.

Valiant x Yami

Over the course of looking for Izuku, All Might & Co. hear a lot from Himiko about his good character & sweet vibes. But they also get a warning.

“Don’t intrude on his soul”

They don’t find out what that means until they find Aizawa with Izuku, arguing with him, when Izuku’s demeanor suddenly changes.

Yami AU: Personally, I imagined Shigaraki’s Penalty Game to involve being surrounded and dragged by a bunch of hands.

I could see that

Anonymous asked:

Yami

Y’know, we never did find out exactly what Shigaraki’s Penalty Game was. All we know is that it ends with him in an alley unconscious and probably foaming at the mouth. Care to elaborate on his condition?

Honestly I'm not totally sure what he'd do to him. Inflicting some kind of madness or sensory deprivation is pretty bread and butter for Yami though.

Yami au

Im still curious what exactly the Nighteye 'cant turn off his quirk' thing entails;

Can he use it the next day on someone else?

Would using it compound , but showing 2 different reels?

What if he used it on someone he did before (as in like a week later)?

Does it still reset each day?

My MAIN one though is what would it being used even be like to him? Cuz the way im imagining it be something like how he stamped the form in the first place: as the day goes on the reality he sees gets more and more desynced (but to what degree / how it looks like idk)

Avatar

He's only capable of seeing the future, probably by a few months, enough that his lack of agency can haunt him. He can't activate it again because it's already on. You're correct that he's effectively looking at everything out of sync, making him functionally blind

Anonymous asked:

Yami AU: Ok, but of course the important question is: what game did Yami play with Kurogiri?

No idea

Anonymous asked:

Yami AU: It occurs to me that Mirio’s biggest break in his investigation of what exactly Midoriya did to Sir Nighteye will come if he ever talks to Eri. So, how long does it take for this to happen?

Probably not long tbh considering the timeline and what Nighteye knows

Yami AU: Kurogiri’s Shadow Game reveals his “true self”: aka Oboro underneath it all.

Originally the penalty was meant to be ironic, seeing as being turned into a Noumu completely erased Shirakumo, so the penalty is to erase Kurogiri’s mind, but it turns out Oboro was still there, just kinda… sleeping in the back. Without Kurogiri in control, he’s back to being himself, with an evolved Quirk to boot.

(Yami becomes unbearably smug. “See?! Sometimes a Penalty Game is the right option!”)

Avatar

Fucking mind crush the noumu right out of him. To be fair, canon Yugioh has 'gaming the brainwashing out of them' as standard operating procedure

About the Yami AU... My visit to Turin's Egyptian Museum made me realize that Yami's cultural shock would be immense... And, most importantly, HILARIOUS. To give just one tame example, he'd suggest Izuku puts images of Shigaraki on the soles of his shoes in the convinction it would magically make it more likely for him to defeat the hand villain (yes, a Pharaoh's shoes often had enemies depicted on it so that he could stomp on them at every step as a magic ritual).

Avatar

Yami wouldn't find that sporting enough

Yami: The Pharaoh can't decide what's weirder, that Ancient Egypt eventually fell as a state and civilization (in all fairness it was so resilient that the literal apocalypse at the end of the Bronze Age failed to bring it down, it just weakened it), or that the end of the Pharaohs' reign is closer in time to the modern day than to his own time on the throne.

It'll seem less weird after getting his memories back

Boogeyman × Yami:

Unstoppable Force meets Immovable Object

Well that would certainly be something

I acknowledge that it's possible that these don't actually go together. But just because I am curious what Yoichi's fate would be: Boogeyman AU x Yami AU.

I'm gonna be honest I don't think Yami could do anything to him that's worse than what he's done to himself.

Except maybe force him to live through what his victims do--forcing him to watch a world he can't interact with, helpless to stop the person in control of his body

Yami AU: Are there any particular lines that Yami Zuku wouldn't cross? Like maybe he's hesitant to inflict his more brutal penalty games on someone like Twice for being mentally ill?

Yami's whole thing is that he's basically a horror series monster because that's strictly speaking what he is. If you hurt Midoriya or his friends, all bets are off. That being said, how much he tends to punish someone is based on what they did to him and whether or not they cheat at the Shadow Game.

Boogeyman AU: So, heroes are less “celebrities” and more “modern samurai”?

That's a good way of putting it

Boogeyman AU: Hey, this middle schooler has a pretty cool explosion Quirk

It is something I thought about
