I don't have much details about pre-sale era, but most of pre-sale participants received frequent contacts from Attaincorp (a voucher seller), and succeeded in redemption. Actually this is why we have plenty of whale-holders in Japan.
Although I have seen some participants still struggling with redemption, most of the cases seem that they ignored those emails for redemption events.
As far as I met pre-sale holders, most of them are quite happy about IOG and Emurgo's contributions following their contracts.
