Does Alchemy restore DS3D without EAX - or does it require EAX *before* hook up? As an example, using this game, Alchemy will simply quit (dsoundlog stops before generating the "Native implementation" message; dll gets unloaded and everything gets passed to official windows dsound.) Only alchemy has this problem - indirectsound stays attached.
--- Theory --- Hmm... could also be an issue with the design of FFXI - as in, maybe POL.EXE (launcher) does not request DS3D at startup, when DLL gets loaded. Alchemy quits. When you then start FFXI - which should support DS3D - no dll reload happens, because through "Square magic" the game window still appears as POL.EXE, it is not a new executable.
