China is not wasting time on fake outrage, book bans, or rewriting history. It is making concrete progress, and in 2024 and 2025, that progress has been undeniable.
China developed an AI model called DeepSeek R1 that has outperformed ChatGPT in scientific problem-solving, even with fewer resources. Their companies are rolling out humanoid robots in both manufacturing and elder care, powered by government-backed AI initiatives. They’ve achieved serious breakthroughs in quantum computing with the Origin Wukong system, which has already logged over 20 million visits from global researchers. China’s Chang’e-6 mission brought back samples from the far side of the moon, something no other country has accomplished. Their astronauts on the Shenzhou 19 mission performed the longest Chinese spacewalk to date, setting new records and involving the youngest astronaut in their space program’s history.
On top of that, China now leads the world in clean energy adoption, with 30 percent of their national energy use coming from electrified sources, something no Western nation has matched. They created LICOMK++, the most advanced ocean simulation system on Earth, able to model climate systems at a one-kilometer resolution. They beat Elon Musk’s Starlink in satellite data transmission with a 100-gigabit-per-second laser comms breakthrough from their Jilin-1 satellite system. They built a tokamak fusion reactor, HH70, using only high-temperature superconductors, aiming for a fusion energy gain factor over 10 by 2027. They even developed a next-generation adaptive camouflage material capable of bending light around itself, effectively making objects invisible.
Meanwhile, what are Republicans doing? Screaming about gas stoves and drag queens. Blaming immigrants, attacking LGBTQ+ people, and preaching that Christianity needs to control the government when it has absolutely no constitutional right to do so. They reject science, believe conspiracy theories, and think that Donald Trump is some kind of messiah. It’s disgusting. It’s pathetic. And it’s why America is falling behind. While China gets dragged through the mud in the American press, they are laser-focused and moving forward. We are not. Americans are not prospering; only the wealthiest among us are. Everyone else is being buried under inflation, housing costs, medical debt, and wage stagnation. But Republicans will keep voting to screw themselves because they are too ignorant and propagandized to see they’re the problem. The truth is hard to swallow, but here it is: America is going to lose its superpower status not because of China, but because of Republicans. Their stupidity is our downfall.
