If deception is your concern, then you should recall that Christ condemned the Pharisees not for lawlessness, but for weaponizing the law against the vulnerable. Women are not property. They are not pawns. They are image-bearers of God. And if we truly walk with Christ, we do not force suffering in His name.
Did Christ not say, “Woe to you, teachers of the law… you tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders, but you yourselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them”?
This is not rebellion. It is the call to mercy, justice, and humility before God; not control under manmade theocracy.
