Over 266,000 adults in Florida’s 8th Congressional District did not vote in the 2024 general election. That is an estimated 42 percent of the district’s adult population. Here is how that breaks down: Florida’s 8th District, which includes most of Brevard County, has around 630,000 residents over the age of 18 as of 2025. Only about 450,935 are registered to vote according to the Florida Division of Elections. That leaves an estimated 179,000 adults who are not registered to vote at all. On top of that, nearly 88,000 registered voters did not vote in 2024, despite having the ability to. Yes, this 179,000 figure includes some individuals who may not be eligible to vote, such as non-citizens or people with felony convictions who have not had their rights restored. But the majority are eligible adults who could register and participate if they chose to. The consequences are real. While Republicans dominate elections in this district, it is not because they represent the will of every voter. It is because too many people either do not register, or do not show up. If you are an independent, a No Party Affiliation voter, or someone who supports third parties, you need to understand your power. You are not the fringe. You are the margin. You are the deciding vote if you actually participate. The status quo only survives when you sit out. Register. Show up. Vote like change depends on it. Because it does. #FL08 #BrevardCounty #RegisterToVote #NoPartyAffiliation #FloridaPolitics #EndTheCycle #VoteThemOut
