Adam West has died at the age of 88. West is best known for playing Batman on the 1966 Batman TV series and Mayor Adam West on Family Guy. West died surrounded by friends and family. Along with Burt Ward and Julie Newmar, West was one of the last major surviving cast members of the Batman series.
The Batman TV series was recently revived in two direct-to-video animated movies: Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders and the upcoming Batman: The Caped Crusaders Vs. Two-Face (featuring William Shatner as Two-Face).
Asked for comment, Meg Griffin said sadly, “Now we’ll never find out who was stealing Mayor West’s water.”
RIP Adam. You were and always will be a legend.

Very sad. Part of my childhood just died. RIP Adam West
A Univ. of Puget Sound alumnus, if I recall correctly. Here is a photo of his Batman on an elephant.
My son’s tribute to Adam West:
Batman was a part of my childhood growing up in the 1960’s. I used to watch it at a friends house the first season because they had a colour TV while we still had B&W.
I later felt a bit sorry for Adam West as he got typecast. It's weird seeing him in anything else. I’m glad he eventually decided to just roll with it.
Tune in next week...same bat time...same bat channel.
The 90s Batman animated series did a nice tribute to him in “Beware the Gray Ghost”, where West voices a Shadow-esque hero whose show Bruce watched as a kid.
