It appears so-called Democratic Leadership currently doesn’t understand who is actually currently President and the leader of our party. They each fancy themselves some sort of Kingmakers and want to bypass Joe and Kamala entirely. Here’s a question for you: Do we let them?

Here is the White House email contact form. If you feel Joe Biden should stay in the race, contact the White House and let them know:

www.whitehouse.gov/…

To be blunt, I cannot stop people on the site who think Biden should step down from emailing their thoughts too. But isn’t that how it should be? Shouldn't it be up to those of us who voted for him in the primary in good faith to make that decision and give Biden our input? Why should the media and so-called Democratic leadership be allowed to take our voices away?

Here is the email I sent:

"Please do not drop out, President Biden. According to Allan Lichtman's famous 13 Keys model, you are the best chance we have of keeping the Presidency. Dem leadership is concerned we'll lose Congress and the Senate? So what? We can work to get them back in 2026. But we NEED the White House and we need to defeat Donald Trump, and I believe you are the only person who can do it.

Barack Obama is WRONG, Nancy Pelosi is WRONG, Adam Schiff is WRONG. And the polling suggests you are still competitive. And you have four months to get skeptical people off the fence.

Yes, the media is against us. It was in 2022 too and we did shockingly well.

Stay in, Joe. Win, and make the media and the big money donors trying to push you out for helping the American people irrelevant going forward.

I know it's hard getting it from nearly all sides but AOC has your back. So do Bernie Sanders and John Fetterman and the Congressional Black Caucus. You have done amazing things and worked against harder odds before your whole life. We need you in this now more than ever."

We are fighting for our Democracy. Don’t you think people who voted in the primary should have a say then? This feeling of hopelessness is because the media and the Democratic Leadership want to take away our power. Do we let them? Do we roll over? Or do we give President Biden OUR honest opinions?

I hope Biden gets a TON of letters of support, but even if you want him to drop out, you have as much of a say in this as any other Democratic voter. Kos was always talking about Crashing the Gates. Are we simply get stand aside and let people take away our actual power and voices?

I refuse to do that and so should you, no matter WHERE you stand on the side of the debate. It should not be up to the media, or George Clooney, or Adam Schiff, or Nancy Pelosi, and not even Barack Obama. It should be up to us

These people WANT you to feel powerless. Take it back. It’s yours. Do not give it up without a fight.

UPDATE

Seraph4377 had a GREAT idea in the comments. Email and call your Dem Congresspeople and Senators to tell them you support Joe Biden too. Especially if that Congressperson has been publicly saying Biden should step down.

UPDATE 2

I read a VERY interesting article from Seth Abramson about Biden’s faculties yesterday. Long story short: The senility accusations are all bullshit. I linked the article in a post today, somebody was bowled over by it, and asked me to do a diary about it. I was like, “No way man, that’s asking for a flame-broiled pie fight.”

But now I’m thinking, “While I’m here...”

sethabramson.substack.com/…

To be absolutely clear, this does not REMOTELY change the fact that the media is out to destroy Joe Biden. If we stay with him we have to factor that in because the truth doesn’t matter to the media. But it should matter to US, and if one of the reasons you want Biden out is because you BELIEVE those stories, please read the article. It’s long as hell, has receipts, and proves to me at least this coordinated effort was never done in good faith.

I am sure Mr, Trump would heartily approve of this effort to prop up his prefered opponent.

Look, I understand you disagree with me. That’s fine. You are a voter. But I’m trying to be proactive and not give into despair. I’m doing this because doing SOMETHING feels better than doing NOTHING. Does that make sense?

I can’t stop people from writing in for Biden to drop out either. But if they do that, it IS them taking matters into their own hands and their power back. That’s how it should be. But those same people can’t stop the MANY of us who support Joe Biden to just stop on Adam Schiff’s say-so. That’s up to US, not them, and not Schiff.

Besides if Shifty Schiff pushes Biden aside, we’ll just simply write in Biden.  All y’all who want to dump Joe Biden will be to blame if Schiff runs and loses to Trump because Biden voters kept their promises to Biden.

We’re the ones who are playing by the rules.  Just get back.

Now here’s your second comment I’ve seen, using the Trump-generated slur against Rep. Adam Schiff, who led the first and successful impeachment against the former president (the corrupt Republican leader of the Senate ensured he would not get convicted). Please confirm or deny that you are an operative from the Trump campaign.

You used a term that Trump and MAGA haters came up with to describe Congressman Adam Schiff when he was on the forefront of Trump impeachment. Critique him all you want but please don’t use MAGA terms here.

I don’t want pie either.  I’m counseling folks of the historical folly of being divided going into the convention and the general election.  We’re doomed if we don’t nip this in the bud or have a graceful exist that leaves all factions satisfied and eager to win.

Nope he did not.  You do not understand the fundamentals of how our Constitutional system works.  It’s a binary election with advantage to incumbent.  Bad debates blow over in days.  Every incumbent in the modern TV era has flubbed their 1st debate in some way and the elections did not hinge on any of those debates.

Great letter you wrote. I have emailed Biden and have called the WH comment line pleading for him not to drop out (several times after the debate, once again today).

Also called Schumer, Pelosi, Jeffries and Schiff and left angry messages. They need to unite or this thing gets thrown to Trump.

I feel like the world has turned upside down. The people who normally make sense seem brainwashed and are trying to get rid of their BEST chance to beat Trump (WTF?!) and MSNBC and the rest of the media is stoking the narrative with a fervor that is beyond me and using Schiff’s and others comments as further fuel.

If Schiff and company would shut up and get behind their chose candidate---Biden---the media would eventually stop. It’s a horrible feedback loop. I really thought it was all quieting down until Schiff reared his ugly head. What a traitor.  So angry at him---and Pelosi, Schumer, Jeffries, etc.

Email her campaign website instead and then follow up with her office to say you support President Biden and are asking her to do the same. That way you are not asking for her as an elected official to weigh in on a campaign-related issue.

You hit the nail on the head. I found her message again and it read:

The Congresswoman’s office is unable to discuss any campaign matters, per House Ethics Committee rules. Please reach out to the Congresswoman’s campaign team if you would like to discuss anything related to the 2024 election . . .

I would hope my message still got to her, even if she is unable to respond as an elected official.

That’s not an iceberg, and we didn’t hit it. It was just a love tap.

No, the forward cargo holds are not filling with seawater. And yes, the watertight doors are all properly closed — of course we’re prepared. And yes, they go up high enough — they go low, we go high, ha ha!

The engines are off because the stokers are doing a shift change. The Captain told us so.

No, the ship isn’t tilting, and the lights aren’t flickering — you’re just being gaslighted (literally!) by the media and the Debbie Downers and the bed-wetters, ha ha.

No, that isn’t icy seawater pouring up the corridor, you are just seeing things. And take off that damn life jacket, what are you, mad?

Listen to the Captain, he knows better than the crew, no matter what they tell him, and will soon announce we are back on our way.

Captain! Captain!

More accurate metaphor: The Iceberg is Trump. And the crew are trying to set the ship on fire instead of manning their posts to avoid it while the Captain has zero help whatsoever. Then they blame the Captain when the ship goes up in flames, hits the iceberg, and sinks.

4Recommend

With all due respect, no your version is much less accurate. In my version, a new captain steps up, and everyone is magically transported to a much newer, much younger ship, that hasn’t struck an iceberg and isn’t going to sink in two hours with two thirds of its passengers — and the voyage continues.

Sadly, President Biden is not ever going to become younger, more vigorous, more collected, or more coherent. It’s not going to happen. And now virtually every major Democratic leader is stepping forward and saying, very carefully, very gradually, very respectfully — because President Biden is a very nice guy with a terrific legacy as President, and is still a very powerful if quite elderly and fragile man —  that, Joe, time is running out.

And I am giving up — just one more comment. We all know the old saw about how you don’t want to know how the sausages are made in the sausage factory. Well, everyone should just shut up and eat their sausage, because that’s politics, and we absolutely must defeat Don the Con and his gang of thugs this November.

Please put up yard signs.
Affix bumper stickers.
Show some courage.
Get out in front.

I know that many here live in places where it feels unsafe to say loud and proud:
 Vote Dem!
Biden/Harris
Stop Project 2025
We Won’t Go Back
Overturn Dobbs.

But most of us live in Blue states and swing states, and cities of reason within Red states.

And I think most of us can draw a little courage from Gandhi, suffragettes, MLK, Rosa Parks,   John Lewis, and the rank and file union coal miners facing gunfire.

And more recently, the BLM protesters, and the suburban dads who came out with their lawnblowers to protect them from tear gas.

My own pretty little white  daughter in a sundress was one of thousands of girls who stood between the militarily armed cops and the black men and women in DC.
As a human shield.
Because her pal from high school asked her to.
And was charged by horses and  gassed.
But wasn’t injured and is proud that she showed up.

We can brave embarrassment and put up signs, can’t we?

Those signs raise consciousness and tell wobbly people that they are not on their own.

They also raise morale , and discourage the fascists.
So much better to do it now while it’s legal
than regret we didn’t try after 2025 is implemented.

This is your time to make a difference in history.
You risk little by doing what I suggest.

But if we do not GOTV, everything rational on earth is at risk.
