Notice anything this diary is missing? A picture. Isn’t that nice?

I want to thank the members of Daily Kos for helping me through my last diary when I was suffering with thoughts of suicide. They haven’t gone away, but I have been helped.

Let me tell you what Tuesday and Wednesday were for me. And this is true for most of you. They were a trauma. I have PTSD. Not ALL of it is caused by Donald Trump, but a great deal of it is. Whenever I see his picture or hear his voice I have a panic attack.

I am not alone. We have repeatedly asked the Front Page to stop showing his picture because it’s traumatic, and making us feel unsafe. And they haven’t done it. But I do want to let “management” know that after the trauma we went through, this is now a safety issue. For all of us, in a bad psychological place, having dark thoughts we are worried about acting on, it’s making them worse.

Do you know what kills me? The new writers always choose the most repulsive pictures of him they can find. With close-ups of his sweaty pours and puckered anus lips. I realize that good photographs of the man do not exist, but could we at least not want to lose our lunch every time we come to the site?

I am still in crisis and I had a phone conversation with Kos member NeverEverAgain today and he gave me the idea for this diary. And until the situation changes, and while I am still here, I feel like maybe I should do more of these diaries. Talk about having something to fight for! Kossacks not having to be traumatized by our own is a battle I am willing to fight.

Let’s hope enough of us feel the same way that management listens at some point.

One last thing. Have y’all been to Hunter’s new site Uncharted Blue?

www.unchartedblue.com

Notice anything? A buncha articles about how awful Donald Trump is. And from what I can see not a single one of them has his picture. There’s a drawing of an owl or a moose, or a raccoon instead. Why can’t we do that?

UPDATE

Somebody added a Donald Trump tag. Don’t do that. Please. It’s been removed and I hope it stays that way.

Did they think it encourages clicks? It actually repels me. It’s counterproductive for the site to do it if they want more views.

I’m with you on not seeing trump’s face.

With me; it’s trump’s voice that makes me crazy.

Especially when he puts on the act and starts the whiny, nonsense talk.

It’s all an act with trump. He thinks he’s on tv and treats us people, like an audience.

He’s acting even meaner and more aggressive than he ever was and making very hostile faces.

Trump’s acting tough, to try to scare us.

He’s mad, he got indicted and will still, even with winning the presidency, have to pay over ½ a Billion in fines and can’t do business in NY State.

NY are civil cases. Done deals. He can’t get out of it. Or pardon himself. Presidential pardons: Settled Law, unsettled issues, and a downside for Trump  Brookings Institution FB

So far. Even if he never goes to jail. The gov’t took a big bite out of trump.

So that hostile act. It’s the old “offense is the best defense.” Trump’s favorite play.

Yeah his policies and thinking are dangerous, and he needs to be watched and stopped by legal ways, every time.

But he can’t come get us.

Just never say anything libelous and one is safe.

Apparently Marchan is considering throwing out the case.  I don’t understand why people are just rolling over and playing dead.

He may not have a choice.

If he rules against Trump, his lawyers will just tie it up in appeals court. His Georgia RICO case is still tied up in appeals.

Trump has played the justice system brilliantly, from his hand picked MAGA justices declaring him a “king”, to his sweetheart judge Cannon tossing out his documents case, and endless delay tactics designed to run out the clock.

Appeals of a felony conviction and sentence don’t prevent going to prison.  It is up to the judge.

Whatever. With the way things have been going, Marchan will probably end up throwing out the sentence. Because that is how Trump works, isn’t it?

My husband and I just returned from a two-day getaway reserved ahead of time about 2 hours from home.  A small casino/hotel that was the perfect way for us to get rid of all the stree build up.

The national news stations will be put at the bottom of channels avalable.  I will peek at the headlines, but just hearing his voice and seeing his face makes in physcially ill.

I am a Stage 0 pancreatic cancer survivor who has spent the last year going through chemo and major surgery.  I am also a miniature artist.  My time and efforts will be used to create beautiful miniature scenes in three different scales.  My husband builds model airplanes and ships.  Our hobbies got us through two years of Covid, and will now get us through four years of what’s his name.

I have my middle finger held high whenever his face appears on my TV screen.  At least, our neighborhood voting precinct in North Texas went for the Democratic ticket.  So, I live amongst friends.

Wow! That was fast Matt, and I plan to push from behind with additional articles/diaries on this topic. Tramp has caused PTSD or added triggers for those already suffering from PTSD. It really can have an immediate physical response for some, and it is not pleasant. For others it could be worse. Thanks for helping pave the way to a better future here on Daily Kos!!

I’m with you 100% Matt.  We all, unfortunately, know what Trump looks like.  There is no reason for the Daily Kos Front Pagers and a multitude of diarists to splash his repulsive face all over this site.  And what also gets me is how some people on this site continue to link to the former Twitter , delivering clicks and therefore money to Elon Musk, a fascist to the core and someone in league with the enemies of democracy.   Ive heard all the arguments before of why they cant stop using the former Twitter.  It is total BS.  You can get almost everything off of YouTube, or in newspaper articles.  What you might not get is the easy to post threads of discussions which these diarists and front pagers use to fill up their space in diaries.  We are at war now with Trump and his fascist MAGA movement and his good friend Trump.

I agree. One of the things I think we can do is simply not respond to any of those articles that callously paste his face across them. I believe that one of the reasons they keep doing it is because it drives engagement, so if we stop engaging with such things it should help discourage it going forward.

I do love a verbal squabble though. There’s a Gay English teacher who showed me how to slice and dice an opponent, beat them up with words. Much later he’s sitting close to me at a local church where I thanked him for being my role model. He’s alleged to have trashed the principal, an imposing and florid German and survived. Can still see grandfather gesturing, exhorting  ‘come back and argue’. He had guns but didn’t need them to settle an argument back then.

If we can’t bear to see Trump’s image, how are we going to bear to witness the horrible acts that are to come?

Just as those who are throwing up their hands in surrender because they can’t stand the loss help no one.

Wow. Thanks for 'splainin' to someone else what should not be a problem for <them>. It's as simple as that, eh? Don't worry about seeing the face that has caused, and will cause, so much death and suffering?

I want everyone to stay in this fight. I want everyone as strong as possible. Seeing that face weakens many of us by giving us negative visceral reactions. Stress to our systems. Loss of sleep and appetite.  Like  slaps to our own faces.

I'm for inspiration...faces and scenes that remind us what we're fighting <for>. The face of a RAPIST just doesn't do that for this old gal or for many others on this site. We have good reason to ask for it to stop.

Does the caricature of DJT that is a toilet brush have the same triggering effect upon you, or some of the cartoons mocking him? I find that I can not stand to hear news coverage of DJT talking, unless it is a clip embedded in a comedian’s laughable version of current events that reminds me how ridiculous the man is. I don’t have PTSD, so I don’t know how far the aversion goes for those who do, but I for one have enjoyed artwork like the diaperclad baby DJT blimp, or the emperor has no clothes version that are also missing other key parts of anatomy, too. Basically any artwork that makes DJT laughable and triggers DJT’s wrath helps me to keep my perspective. How about you?
