The Great Handover was an event which took place on May 9, 2025, where Froot would leave the management of The Sharty to the Froot Domme League and Quote, unless Soot returned.

History[edit | edit source]

The original plan was to sell the site, announced on May 9, 2025, on /biz/,[1] but in the end, he changed his mind after and gave the site to Quote instead.

The decision to sell the site came from his desire to distance himself from the website, also mentioning that he was planning to have a child and did not want his ownership to have a negative role in that. He also stated that he is looking for a suitable owner, who would be willing to keep the site alive. Based on compiled answers from his pseudo-Q&A, his ideal owner would be an owner that interacts with the community, is neutral on very controversial site issues, and has a passion for the site. He does not care about the money he gets, but about the person that he gives the site to.[2] He stated that he will probably give it to the cabal.

Timeline[edit | edit source]

[May 9, 17:47:29] First thread, Froot addressing the future of the site.[2]

[May 9, 20:02:43] Second thread, Froot taking feedback on whom should be the next owner.[3]

[May 9, 21:00:26] Final Thread, Froot's final QnA, Quote becomes the new admin.[4]

[May 10, 02:38:48] Quote QnA, Declaration of ownership.[5]

Change of plans[edit | edit source]

After being disappointed by the potential buyers and the feedback from the soymmunity, Froot decided to change the plan from selling the site to trying to hand it over back to Soot, and if he refused, the cabal. He then held a Q&A on /soy/, before rapidly declaring Quote to be the new official owner.[4] On the Shiwi, Froot said that he went through with the transfer so fast because he knew he would walk back on his decision.[6]

Quote has stated that he would be willing to let Soot be an administrator but isn't willing to give him full control of the site.[7]

It is arguably the most peaceful change of ownership in sharty history.

Before Quote was instated as the new owner, many soyteens suggested potential future owners, including:
