I don’t know how accurate the English rules translation is from the official German rules. I agree with the two points Dan mentioned only because that was how I learned it when I played it at the Spiel table at BGG Spring. I wasn’t taught from the guys who came over from Germany representing Spiel, but as far as I know, the two points Dan brings up where how everyone played.

On the flask use, the DE rulebook shows the picture of a white chip being returned, as does the flask itself. 2nd ed. DE rules don't, but it looks like the online rules have been updated to specify a white chip only. The North Star translation calls out white chips only here too. Using the flask on a white chip is an obvious strategy but is it deliberate (or necessary) to limit a player from choosing to use the flask on any chip? Can I feel a house rule forming in the shadows here?
