Hi! I submitted a file with the official translation of the fortune-telling cards, provided directly by the game's author Wolfgang Warsch.

Can anyone post The size of The cards?
I see two errors here:

1. Players start with one ruby each, which is not mentioned.

2. You can only use a flask to put a white token back in the bag, not any token.

Is this really an official translation? And no response to these issues?

I don’t know about the official translation? But this was how I was taught at BGG.Spring

Description of the file says it's official.

Define 'this'. What's in the file, or what Dan says?

Sorry if I didn’t explain well.

I don’t know how accurate the English rules translation is from the official German rules. I agree with the two points Dan mentioned only because that was how I learned it when I played it at the Spiel table at BGG Spring. I wasn’t taught from the guys who came over from Germany representing Spiel, but as far as I know, the two points Dan brings up where how everyone played.

Also we at North Star Games are bringing this game over the North America, when we do we will be creating localized rules, so if nothing else, any issues will be fixed by us, when that comes out this fall.

I agree with those 2 points. I don't read German but the German rulebook shows 1 ruby with the starting setup and it mentions "weißen/white chip" in the flask paragraph (which is also consistent with the picture)

The starting ruby appears to be right. I can't see the ruby in the picture, but point 4 in the text is 'noch 1 Rubin aus dem Vorrat'. My German is only starting but this appears to translate as '1 more ruby from the supply'. The North Star translation uses the same image but moves the text for point 4 to indicate the starting bag ingredients. Homepage for the DE version has the pdf rules to download and compare.

On the flask use, the DE rulebook shows the picture of a white chip being returned, as does the flask itself. 2nd ed. DE rules don't, but it looks like the online rules have been updated to specify a white chip only. The North Star translation calls out white chips only here too. Using the flask on a white chip is an obvious strategy but is it deliberate (or necessary) to limit a player from choosing to use the flask on any chip? Can I feel a house rule forming in the shadows here?
