But can also instantly catch up to Sonic without any aid after he ran across an entire city at max speed?These movies are very inconsistent with how they portray the abilities of Tails and Knuckles. Sometimes they're on par with Sonic, sometimes they're superior to him, sometimes they're so far behind that they can never catch up.In the first scene they're not actually serious about the race, it's a clever ruse to get Sonic to fuck off so they can set up a surprise party.So it literally doesn't make sense why he's using a jetpack at all. Like that literally doesn't explain why he's using a jetpack, which he obviously doesn't need for reasons that do not require explaining. But people were legit defending that scene by saying "NOOOO HE NEEDS THE JETPACK CUZ HE NOT AS FAST!!!" but in the scene where he's using it he isn't even trying to actually win, and at the end of the movie when it's a real race he isn't using it.
