if you have very long hair or layered hair, try splitting the ponytail in two sections, braiding them, then twisting them into a bun. It prevents fly aways and in my opinion looks very nice!!

And I thought my ballet bun was time consuming.....

This is an awesome video. As a synchro dad I often wonder if i'm knoxing the right away nd this was a terrific help. We have placed it up on our website so everyone should share this video as well. Well done!!!!

Past dancer here: we did buns but never had to do this! Wow what we do for our craft! Bobby pin tip: never knew this until I read the instructions that came with a pack one day. The ripped portion of the Bobby pin always goes against your head. You should NEVER see it; the ribbed portion is designed to cause resistance so as not to fly out when dancing, doing gymnastics, etc. then, the end of the pin should always get tucked under the hair. Nothing exposed to get caught on the costume when moving your arms. Result: a flat Bobby pin flush against the head. She be invisible and blend it to look seamless. If exposed, the ribs reflect light at awkward angles and you can see that from the stage.

As a black woman, this was pure nightmare fuel.

If you use sheet gelatine it is a lot easier to get the right consistency and it doesn't risk going flaky in places once it's drying :)

Thats a good fighting hairstyle nobody can pull your hair 😆

This is so interesting, I had no idea this was something that was done

You have to rinse it off in very hot water and scrub at it with shampoo. It takes about 30 mins to completely get all of it out but there may still be some left over that you have to pick out.

Thank you so much for taking the time and making this video, it will very useful to show my synchro girls. I didn't want to have to demonstrate on myself for nothing hahaha. Thanks, hope you have a great season if you are still in MAC :)

I do synchronized swimming 😍 and i know how IT feels😍
If you swim with a bun cover and not a headpiece like that, I suggest knoxing without it and putting it on after it is dry. You have a bunch of little hairs that end up collecting at the back, around the bun, and it isn't pretty xD

I just knocks my ear but I don't know how to put the headpiece in...😂

How long take it do do that?

Men don't understand how high maintenance perfect hair is.
Love the can look for
Where did the concept of knoxing hair for synchronized swimming originate? Why can't synchronized swimmers just wear caps?
who else is here from that olympics ig post😂
We used Vaseline back in the old days. 2 shampoos and it was out.
How do you get it out of your hair when you're done? I'm curious XD
Ok so how do you wash this stuff out of your hair then???😮
My club puts in a ponytail with braids and then does Knox and after that we bun it up
Knox should add a girl with bun hair in their logo
First step wet hair in sink and tangle it. Then detangle it...Ladies just use a spray bottle for that part.
for me, about 30 mins. my hair is super long (just above butt haha) but it is really thin, so its easier to knox my hair. as for thicker hair, its harder. idk why, just is :P lol

Why not use hair gel?
I never knox my bun it’s just annoying to get out.
How do you wash it out?

We do this kind of crazy thing, yet we mock and laugh at indigenous tribes who use too many necklaces... 😅 Still, what a dedication! Congratulations! Didn't know synchronised swimmers had to go through this! :p
My fellow synchro members who can relate doing this sucks
The Kerry Natalie hand happy not to ing for canary wharf
