I muxed it last night using MKVToolnix with the exact same files and experienced no issues at all. Maybe try it again, but this time make sure there's enough space in the drive where you're saving the muxed file as that could be the cause of the error.

I saw Snyder's Dawn of the Dead a couple of weeks ago for the first time and while I'm not a huge fan of it, it was infinitely more enjoyable than this dull movie.

Well I compared the two because Snyder directed those two. Not sure why you mentioned Shaun of the Dead and Train to Busan. However opinions can be subjective.
I think expectations were high for this and result is underwhelming IMHO.
