Projects

  • Implemented system utility functions on XINU Operating system (C, VCL, XINU OS)

System utility functions to understand memory structure, stack and base pointers model, monitoring frequency and time of systems calls of Xinu OS.

  • Optimized p2mp reliable data transfer protocol using the ARQ scheme (Python 2.7, Socket programming)

    - Present

Featured data segmentation, concurrent buffer management, designing window size, computing checksums using UDP sockets.

  • Design and implementation of a ‘Smart Store’

In this project, a method of making departmental store shopping easy and hassle free was proposed. RFID tags were attached to all products in the store and managed via databases using php and MySql coding and a user-friendly touch-screen interface was developed which will enable the customer to login into the store’s website and pay the bill without the need of any human resource. For products such as fruits and vegetables, an implementation of “Textural based image processing” paper by…

RFID tags were attached to all products in the store and managed via databases using php and MySql coding and a user-friendly touch-screen interface was developed which will enable the customer to login into the store’s website and pay the bill without the need of any human resource. For products such as fruits and vegetables, an implementation of “Textural based image processing” paper by Haralick to recognize the fruit was used and the features thus extracted using a mobile camera application were fed to a fuzzy logic code developed on MATLAB. Force sensitive resistor with Arduino microcontroller was implemented to weigh the fruit and the integration thus displayed the cost of the fruit.

    Other creators
  • Design and implementation of an innovative technique to automate traffic

The project aimed at reforming the complete regime of present day traffic system which involved real time traffic control algorithm, emergency system, automatic toll collection, traffic break alert, power efficiency, theft alert. It was based on Radio frequency identification technology and was implemented on microcontroller Atmega 64. It extensively used embedded C, Visual basics and database management as a coding base to implement the logic with a miniature working model to showcase the…

    Other creators
  • Demand Paging and Virtual Memory Management(Kernel Programming (C,VCL, XINU OS)

    -

-Mapped a large virtual address space to relatively small physical memory using two-level paging in physical memory.
    - To handle page fault, page replacement policies like Second-Chance and LFU were implemented.

  • Implemented Readers/Writers Lock in XINU OS (C,VCL, XINU OS)

    -

-Allowing multiple readers to share the lock, but the writer's access to a lock is exclusive by modifying XINU's Semaphore implementation.
    - Priority Inheritance protocol to solve the problem of Priority Inversion that prevents a higher priority process waiting for the lock indefinitely.

  • Process Scheduling in XINU OS (Kernel Programming) to avoid the starvation of processes (C,VCL, XINU OS)

    -

    - Linux-Like kernel 2.2 scheduler divides CPU time into continuous epochs and assigns time quantum based on priority and prior goodness.
    - Random scheduler which schedules the process on random value that follows statistical probability and avoids process starvation.

  • Designed and implemented Peer to Peer distributed file sharing model (Python 2.7, threading)

    -

-Implemented peer-peer model where peer-client registers to a standalone server with peer-state information and gets file by indexing.
-P2p model with concurrent servers, optimized timers and peer state information performed better in terms of file distribution time.

  • High level design document of Extranet connectivity between clients using shared application services by SP

    -

Presented HLD of details on the Service provider’s core architecture and technology integration in reference to the requirements gathered in the Customer Requirements Document (CRD). It addressed the design areas of MPLS core and aggregation, VRF(VRF-lite), Site to Site IPsec, VRF aware NAT.

Honors & Awards

  • R&D Security Hackathon 2019 - Second Runner up

    -

  • Rank Certificate for Academic Excellence

    -

Received an award for academic excellence by securing a Fourth rank at the end of the four years of Engineering at VJTI.
