To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

PS I understand that Android 14 is still in beta phase, but I thought it would be good to bring this to your attention

Could be specific to Pixel 7. It's working perfectly fine on Pixel 6, same Android build.
Have you tried manually adding IMS APN?
kyujin-cho commentedon May 27, 2023
Hi! My P7P is also on UDC Beta2 but I'm still able to register the IMS. Did you try resetting network settings?
Levilee2k6 commentedon May 28, 2023
Hi. I have a Pixel 6, running UPB2.230407.019 and ims is not registering anymore. It was working fine on previous builds
arsradu commentedon May 28, 2023
Have you tested an actual call? It says Unregistered within the app (and also in the INFO menu), but the actual services work fine (at least in my case). I feel like this could be a bug with Android rather than the Pixel IMS app. I could be wrong though.
Levilee2k6 commentedon May 28, 2023
Yes. Unfortunately indoors i rely on VoWifi because my reception is very poor. The VoLTE seems to be working fine. I didn't have issues on previous beta builds.
arsradu commentedon May 28, 2023
Try to add IMS APN as described below. Works fine for me.
Levilee2k6 commentedon May 28, 2023
I tried to add the access point, but as soon as I click save, it disappears and doesn't show on the apn list.

arsradu commentedon May 28, 2023
It's not supposed to show up in the APN list. It's hidden. Don't worry about that. Just make sure the actual settings are correct.
Levilee2k6 commentedon May 28, 2023
Sorted! I tried filling everything in CAPS, it saved it, it shows in my apn list, amd the VoWifi is working! Thanks a lot!

arsradu commentedon May 28, 2023
Glad to hear that. :) It still doesn't show up on my phone (I think APN Type needs to be: ims, otherwise it shows up in the list), but the important thing is that you managed to get it working.
Well done! :)
Levilee2k6 commentedon May 28, 2023
I'm not shure, but all CAPS definitely works.

arsradu commentedon May 28, 2023
Nice! Didn't know it's case sensitive (looks like it is). But anyway, if it works, that's all that matters! :))
Enjoy!

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be interested in hiding ims, or using it. I also tried with all caps. Same results
arsradu commentedon Jun 7, 2023
Did you try to replicate the settings in my screenshots exactly? It works fine for me. And it's not displayed in the list.
siavash79 commentedon Jun 7, 2023
Yes that's the first thing I tried

Indeed, this goes beyond Pixel IMS. It's about the logic of the OS that is messed up.

My instruction for Polish Orange + Pixel 7 Pro + Android v14
*#*#4636#*#*
→ IMS: Registered & VoWifi : Available (for the first time)You may also re-enable wifi calling option in sim settings.
Of course before that, you need to install IMS Pixel and enable wifi calling
arsradu commentedon Oct 23, 2023
Yep, that's how you get it to work. Just don't forget to remove your phone number from the second screenshot. :)
abdgeo commentedon Oct 23, 2023
After enrollment to android QPR the VOWIFI stopped working and IMS always shows Unregistered
@arsradu @Levilee2k6 Thanks a lot for this trick, it solved my issue
Note: it works after using caps for everything

I have the pixel 8 with android 14, vowifii is enable and also I added the APN, but still wifi callings are not working for me, I got the message turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call but Im connected to a wifi conection.. My SIM card works well with wifi call in another android device.
as abdgeo suggested, I used cap for everything when I added the APN. Any suggestion to fix this problem.
fillwithjoy1 commentedon Feb 16, 2024
Your carrier probably hasn't implemented wifi calling, despite the phone reporting as connected. You'll need to ask your carrier to add this.
fillwithjoy1 commentedon Feb 16, 2024
Just wondering, did you get it working at all in the end?
SaeedDev94 commentedon May 8, 2024
@kyujin-cho I wonder If you could enable VoLTE on your new "Google Pixel 8" with latest update "14.0.0 (AP1A.240505.005, May 2024)" ?
flossy83 commentedon May 20, 2024
Capitalisation of IMS definitely matters, in fact when I use lowercase ims I get an Android error saying my carrier doesn't support ims.
You can also do comma separated values I think like: default,IMS

Hey guys,
That's off-topic, but by any chance do not you know which flag in Expert mode allows connection to private PLMNs?
I am trying to connect to a private PLMN with MCC = 999 MNC=30, but not able to. Logs revealed the following:

You need to patch the modem for your provider in your country
need QPST software for Windows + IMS configs (nv items)
search patch for your provider , nv configs, or they can be extracted from another smartphone where it works and try to apply it on yourphone
Using QPST can be dangerous without certain knowledge, read the instructions carefully before doing anything
SaeedDev94 commentedon Oct 6, 2024
QPST for Pixel Tensor?!!!
As I know it's just for Qualcomm Snapdragon
fillwithjoy1 commentedon Oct 7, 2024
Yikes, that's definitely off-putting for most people
