The interactions of both genetic and environmental factors produce serial killers. Environmental factors are especially known to affect how killers express their murderous acts. This paper, a revised and updated version of the paper presented in 2015, attempts to further clarify which types of family backgrounds actually produced serial killers.

Serial killers are known to be produced by the interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Especially, environmental factors are considered to influence the perpetrator's expression of their murderous acts.
