Hey everyone!

Apologies for the delay, a power outage in my area last night caused my internet to go down for a while so I couldn't upload the latest build on time.

Still, it's been an extremely busy and stressful month moving into the new place, but I managed to get it all done and finish up things for the update.

Due to the moving situation though there wasn't a whole lot of writing done for this update, and I hope to make it up in the next build of the game by getting much much further in Kate's route. More on all that in the upcoming plans post.

Writing:
In this update we finally head into Kate's route proper and have a fun time with her while also dealing with an unexpected turn of events.

Artwork:
Following the Bakery update, we've added several more CG Scenes to the Bakery route and getting much closer to finishing that route off and moving onto the CG Scenes we need for Kate's route.

A large part of Violet's route has been updated with her new sprites, so you Violet lovers will have something new to enjoy in her route overall until we finish up with Kate's route and move onto Violet!

As mentioned in the changelog not all of her events have the new expressions yet, there is A LOT to go over after all.

Technical:
I mentioned in the last update to the game that we had new Achievements, but due to the old system, we wanted to hold off until this update to properly add them in. Now you achievement hunters will be accompanied by a lovely notification and jingle when an achievement is aquired. The notification portion of the system was not something I originally planned to do, but since Uni won't be coming to Steam I figured we should go ahead and add our own.

Work Begins on Kate's Main Route!

We're moving on into the development of Kate's route past her routelock, at least in terms of writing and spritework. Work on the CG Scenes for the remaining Bakery events will continue in this update.

Artwork:
We'll get as far as we can with the Bakery CG Scenes, once those are finished we'll be working on the CG Scenes for Kate's route, which is likely going to be way fewer than what the Bakery route has since the Kate route is centered more on romance.

Writing:
The initial first few events past her route lock are planned for 0.59 and they're pretty beefy events despite the lower number since a lot is going to be happening in them. Sometimes unexpected twists and turns happen in life. Things you never see coming...

Programming:
Been a while since I had a programming section in one of these, but during 0.58 when we added the new achievements to the game we noticed a flaw in it's design. So we took the time to go ahead and improve the system so that it's no where near as inconvenient as it is now. Additionally since the game will not be releasing on steam we're going to add our own little achievement pop up whenever you clear the conditions for one.

MISC:
Lastly, the POLL FOR THE NEXT ROUTE will begin on the 10th and run until the 17th on here and Subscribestar to decide which route after Kate's we will be working on next.
Deciding early like this allows us time to add in the new sprite layers to characters like Violet, Matt, and Damien so that they are given a new suite of expressions rather than the small number they currently have from the early days of development.

• We're currently working on an improved achievement system that can update itself to work with any in-progress saves for 0.59, so it's best to wait till then.

Bakery was the first route to hit its routelock a few years ago, and since that time many people would ask us if the Bakery route was ever going to get any new content. I assured them that Bakery would be the first route to be finished in the game due to how long it was going to take to bring all the other routes up to their respective route locks in the meantime.

Today, we bring to you the very first route to be completed in the development of Uni, the bakery route!
While it's not 100% completed in terms of all the art that remains to be made for it, all the writing and spritework has been finished.

In this update you'll encounter two endings for the route and one of them has the CG finished for it while the other ending's CG is still WIP.

For all you Bakery fans I hope that we've brought this route to a satisfying conclusion.
