I live in El Salvador, and there used to be a lot of stores that marketed the "we sell American clothes" a lot, one of them is called American Apparel LOL. Though since the late 2010s it's become less of a catchphrase, with stuff like Shein and Temu getting more of an edge.
It's interesting to see Mauritania has stores like that too.
In Germany, there is a pastry that first became a tging in the 50s, which is half covered in chocolat and half in frosting. So, it's a black and white cookie. So, guess what it's called? It's called "Amerikaner", because it's black and white, just like american soldiers.
This is named because it's a chocolate version of an existing flavor(pasticciotto) that was created to celebrate his election as the first black president of the USA. Chocolate is also one of his favorite flavors.
