2.5 stars. The puzzles were interesting and I have to say that I didn't guess most of the time, though I was disappointed that the last one, where I did figure out what was going on, ended up with what seemed to essentially be a supernatural "solution." Three things that made me round down rather than up (and as a dedicated Sherlockian - and English major - I may be pickier than the average person):

1) Lots of typos - or spelling/grammatical errors, depending on how charitable you're feeling. Calling them typos assumes that the author knew what was right and the error was in the proofreading, or lack thereof.

2) Not keeping up on the timeline. One story takes place in 1890 and it seems pretty clear that Holmes and Watson are sharing quarters. Watson was married to Mary Morstan in 1889 and she died (presumably) sometime between 1891 and 1894, so my wild guess is that he would have been living with her in 1890. (There are times when Mary is away and Watson goes to stay with Holmes; however, he always mentions this.)

3) Unbelievable situations. a) In one story, which takes place at a ducal manor, the duke's bedroom is directly above the kitchen. Uh, no. Never. b)

While more work is definitely needed, however, it does have promise.
