That’s just Youtube, bro. Nothing is happening, it’s just Youtube being Youtube, which is making everything harder for users for no reason. They had the time to change the Youtube logo into red-pink for whatever reason, but can’t even spend a few minutes fixing actual issues that have been complained by users for years. It’s annoying as hell because sometimes I got into virtual fights and they thought I’m a coward for not replying to them. When in reality, I did try to reply many times but they did not show up. So I just gave up, turned off reply notifications, and let those online trolls have their cheap victory. Thanks, Youtube. Youtube has always been shit since around 2016–2018. It’s like we have no freedom anymore since they keep on limiting things in every update every year. What’s funny is that it’s okay to post half-naked Onlyfans thirst trap videos, but it’s nearly impossible to reply to comments now. Yeah thanks, Youtube.

As others have said, this is my exact problem and it drives me crazy when I look it up on Google it just says that my comments must have gotten automatically flagged by Google. Mmkay, so I can comment under a video all day, but I can’t reply to someone’s comment? That makes no damn sense. YouTube has a fucking problem they’ve just decided to ignore and make excuses instead. All of my comments are there years later on YouTube videos, but my replies to comments are missing immediately. Sometimes they even post under the comment, but once I back out of the comment thread it’s gone. Makes absolutely no sense.

This is exactly what is happening to me! Just like the others. I can't even reply to people who have responded to a comment that I made. Can make the original comment but can't reply back. I don't know why this is happening or whether YouTube is doing it or the person who replies doesn't want a response from the original commenter.

I think YouTube is doing it directly, though, as I still can't post any replies. My comments are not disrespectful or rude. No swear words, generally not even argumentative; just thoughts, often approving. But my replies to others’ comments are still not showing up; guess I've been “canceled” lol! I sincerely can't think of any reason - except maybe I write too much and that triggered some shut-down.

That would probably be a blessing in disguise anyway. I wonder if this “ban”, if it is such, ever gets lifted. It is a virtual platform, yet sometimes one can find real support and good interaction on there. It can be helpful, supportive and educational.

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in this. It doesn't seem possible to contact YouTube (I could write headquarters..) But I'm taking it more as an indication that I should not be wasting my time this way. It's not really healthy or terribly productive. But if YouTube is censoring things then that really is ill-advised. I am a lefty but I still don't think that others’ opinions should be censored. It's very important to hear other points of view.

But it's also a waste of time to argue on social media.

Edit to Update: I thought that a “new wrinkle” had occurred with my comment ability: when I tried to reply to a Reply, it wouldn't even click on it! BUT it turned out there was a change in how to do the replies! To reply to a reply, you have to click on this tiny symbol that's at the bottom right of all the replies. THEN you can reply. The person's username appears at the front as usual.

The comments still get hidden. But at least I can write them - there's no point to that, bc no one sees them. But I cab still write then. Occasionally they seem to stay.

I can't answer your question or tell you why but I can tell you how to get around it

Something is fundamentally broken in the YouTube mobile app I don't know if it's some form of moderation or what but nine out of 10 times I can reply to somebody but when I tried to reply again for example when there's a back and forth conversation replies don't work anymore I hit reply I typed the comment I hit send and it just says an error it just won't let me reply what I have to do is I have to copy the entire message especially the @ symbol and the name of the person I'm replying to portion what I then do is I copy that and I go back to the original message in that thread and I tap that message and I can reply to that message and that works every time

Basically think of the first messages the root message and the replies to that message as sub messages if you were to reply to a sub message you'd be creating a sub sub message basically tier 1 tier 2 tier 3 for whatever reason the YouTube mobile app won't allow a tier 3 post so you have to make it a tier two post by copying your message going back to the tier one post that contains the tier 2 posts and replying to that tier one post by including the @ symbol and name of the person they'll get the notification of a reply

As for why this happens? I have no idea I don't think it's a form of moderation I think the app is just broken and they don't want to fix it for some reason because it's been like this for about a year now if not longer and what's really weird is sometimes I can reply to a message basically creating a tier 3 message I have no idea why

As a little side note there's also a way to tell when your message gets moderated meaning deleted They do it by ghosting you you will still see your message but your messages actually gone and it's really easy tap on your message The app will try to reply to your own message and because your messages actually deleted it'll give you an error That's your indication that your message just got moderated and they did it by ghost meaning you still see your message but it's not really there anymore

I am getting this too, but it has gotten worse over time.

What was happening at first was that my comments were being shadow “banned”. I could see my own comments, but I noticed that if I logged out of YouTube and went back to the thread, my comment was no longer visible. So I could see it, but no one else could.

So what I started doing was having Google Chrome open for posting comments, logged into YouTube, and Edge open but not logged into YouTube. Then I would post a comment using Chrome, then switch over to Edge and see if a user who wasn’t logged in could see my comment. About half the time it never showed up in Edge, so I would reword my comment and post again. After one or a few tries one of the attempts would succeed … usually.

But now it has gone full-fledged delete. I can see the comment post and the number of comments in the thread increases by 1, I can switch over to Edge (where I am not logged in) and see my comment. So it successfully posted, and everyone can see it. But then after a few minutes, the number of comments in the thread decreases and I cannot see my post any more, in either Chrome or Edge.

As others have said, it doesn’t matter how harmless, friendly, etc. my comment is, it is still being deleted by YouTube.

It's a social engineering tactic, and it's very intentional. I've been monitoring this for some time now, and they have made several very subtle changes that all worked toward making their speech controls more covert.

At this point, there are multiple levels to how the system works: comment removal and comment silencing (AKA shadow banned). If you post a comment and then check back to confirm that it's still posted, that actually doesn't mean it hasn't been silenced. The most nefarious aspect of the silencing on YouTube is that very often your comment will remain visible to you, but it won't be visible to anyone else, and there will be no notification or indication of any kind that this action has been taken against you. The only way to really know if your comment has been silenced or not is to open an incognito/private browser window (not logged in) and search through all the comments to see if yours is there. You used to be able to check by changing the sorting of the comments to "most recent", but they changed it so that the silenced comments are only removed from the "top comments" list, which is the default setting that nearly everyone sees.

The reason for this is to make people who are engaging in wrongthink believe that their silenced comments are publicly visible but that no one liked or interacted with the comments so they feel as though their ideas have been socially rejected. In most cases, this causes the person to be less likely to share the same ideas again and effectively pushes them toward "acceptable" ideas. Even when the person is fully aware of the silencing, simply having knowledge of the existence of such a mechanism inevitably makes the person less likely to share controversial ideas because of the hassle associated with avoiding certain words/phrases and the extra effort required to ensure that the comment really is publicly visible, so it's a win-win from a pro-censorship perspective.

In other words, they are very deliberately manipulating everyone.

They do a lot worse than that. This is called shadowbanning and other censorship techniques committed by them against their users. They want to fool you into believing they posted your comment or reply so they show you it as being posted as you can see it through your account, but when you view it outside of your account it's not posted or counted at all. It is customized censorship catered to each account holder and one of the many reasons for YouTubes unstoppable downfall. It is straight-up re-education and revision of facts and history and Scientific thought and truth and reality. This is also measured by the fact that most YouTube accounts are now bots and troll farm accounts broadcasting from the enemy communist country of their communist government spy benefactor/owners, the CCP and the communist axis countries, with the function of pushing this political narrative of universal re-education and revision onto the public and to act as filler for the vast numbers of real account holders across the globe who have left YouTube over the past half decade and more, especially over the past two years, due to this heinous treatment and mess and conformity to the global situation their communist government spy owners and benefactors created, support and defend. YouTube/Google and its communist "comrade sites" Facebook/Instagram and Twitter, along with their more recent addition comrade sites Rumble/Bitchute and TikTok, are done. They are historical toast waiting to fade away. Freespeech "open sites" like Twitch, Gab, Tumblr, DLive, 8kun and others have a much larger and more robust and faster growing clientele of real accounts. Bot and farmtroll accounts don't really work on their architecture infrastructure, so users like that you can see if the person you're conversing with is real. The idea that they have no censorship, automated and not, is another great step they have to curbing this shadowbanning and other extreme censorship committed by the seven "comrade sites", YouTube/Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Rumble/Bitchute/TikTok, against their real users who made them what they once were but are no longer.

It started when I criticized Putin in several videos during his aggression toward Ukraine (as if it ever ends). Now EVERY single comment I try to post no matter how benign gets instantly deleted. I found a way to beat this by just copying my post and reposting repeatedly (using control-v to paste). Eventually I get ahead of the mechanism deleting my posts and the one that deletes multiple posts takes over and I am left with one post that sticks. Even with this work around I am disgusted with YouTube as their censoring has gotten as bad as other well known anti-free speech sites like Yahoo. With YouTube I am sure it is all about $$$ more than anything. If they block your comments I would suggest blocking their ad revenue with uBlock Origin. I am not advertising any particular blocker, this is just the one I use. I NEVER see ads on YouTube using this plugin in Firefox. I don’t know what other browsers it’s available for but it’s worth a shot if you want to block YouTube ads hassle free.

I have found the right solution for the problem. My problem occurred when I commented on one of YouTube videos in which someone posted a comment that I didn't really liked. I posted the reply after almost typing for an hour and after i replied, I just checked the comment from another account. But that was not there😠. I did many methods for making it visible, but none of them really worked for me. Then I just typed some random text on the comment section, but that went visible to everyone. Then i understood that it may be something in my comment that make that prevent it from being seen by everyone.

The method which I followed to find out that something was:

1. I opened two windows in my computer browser, one was normal one and the other was incognito and placed both in-front of the screen taking each window half of the screen area.
2. In one window I logged in to the account from which I need to post the comment, also I opened one tab for saving a copy of the comment (Here I opened a Google Keep tab and just pasted the comment there for copying each sentence from the comment one by one). In the other window I logged in to my another account for verifying whether the comment was visible.
3. I opened the same video on both the windows and first pasted just the first paragraph of the comment and posted. I then reloaded the video on other side and found it to be not visible. I then pasted just the first sentence and posted and it was visible. Then i edited the comment and added the second sentence also and it was also fine . I then did with each of the other sentences one by one and all were okay, but at one sentence it was made again hidden. Then i understood that it was the sentence that made all the trouble and after inspecting it I found one word in it and felt some suspicion. I just changed it to its synonym and that was made again visible😘👌.
4. I added the rest of the sentences and paragraphs. I got one more error when I added the last paragraph. After looking through it, I also found another word similar to the first one and after changing that word too, the entire comment was made visible to the public.

The problem with my comment was just two words. They were words which also had some vulgar meanings to it. Even though I used them for a good purpose ,they caused problem because YouTube felt my comment to contain some bad language. The uploader of the video can add this feature to the comment section for preventing people from posting bad comments. My comment was not visible because it was waiting there for the approval from the video uploader. Most of the times, the content uploader may not even look at these comments which were found suspicious and our comments will never be visible anytime.

Same exact thing with me. About 4 months ago I went to set someone straight on a Lucy Letby ( twice convicted nurse who killed premature newborn babies in UK). I went to reply to one of her fanboys ( I know, sick, right?) and all of a sudden the reply button does absolutely nothing. I thought ok it must just be a temporary ban or something because I pissed him off. Nope. I can't reply to ANY replies on ANY channel. I can make a comment on the video itself but that's it..4 months later and it's still happening. After reading the comments here I can see I'm not the only one. This is why I barely use YT anymore. I cancelled my premium membership ( why should I pay to censor my own words?) and I've moved over to X for intelligent conversations. It's not perfect but it's definitely not as horribly censored as YT. Hopefully, it will get better with the new administration coming in but with everything else that needs to be fixed, I'm not going to hold my breath.

Here is the example when youtube deletes your message. the 1st msg stays . the 2nd is deleted .

I think youtube is a piece of turd that is heavily censored and is a useless platform if only being used to address the positive side of things. So just watch it with an adblocker. these cheap guys don't need to monetize on your wasted time on youtube.
It's a sad truth that the whole world is fooled by such disgustingly huge companies who control how we think and work !!!!! . And it's more dangerous than China and DPRK combined. These huge companies basically drain your common sense. In many parts of the world, I have seen elderly people being fooled by some fake videos on youtube and they sternly believe in what they see since they are not educated about how all these services work!!!.

What were you trying to say if I might ask? I find it's because it usually has a word or phrase that isn't allowed. For example, the following is not allowed as a reply. It always gets insta deleted.

Same thing happens any time I call out the CIA or discuss the potential existence of a shadow government. Even if I back it up with sound evidence or logic & am super friendly, dosent matter. Deleted. I'm convinced there either A) is a deep state/shadow government & youtube is one of their assets, or B) youtube is ultra woke & won't let you discuss things that could even slightly posit an idea contrary to the person's world view. For example, anytime I politely posit that we don't have free-will & back it up with logic… insta deleted.

Regardless, make no mistake, youtube is involved in extreme censorship.

I posted a comment on the famous Scott Ritter spreading pro russian propaganda as an “ex NATO Inspector”, mentioning his sentence to prison 2011 for child abuse, since he appears everywhere suddenly.

After that the comment was gone. I posted again. Gone. I post in any other channel, even “Hi channel” on an Asmongold video, its gone in 15 seconds. My comment history ends 2 weeks ago, when i posted the above comment. Everything afterwards is deleted. No history.

I used my second account. I could post in gaming channels etc. Then i posted in a video with Scott Ritter “Google this gentleman, he has a dark past”. Gone. From this point i couldnt post anymore on this channel either. Thats 4 days ago. No message from Youtube. No mails about answers to any comments, no history.

I posted that on the Youtube community. My thread was locked immediately. I searched for that topic. ALL the threads mentioning their comments suddenly dont appear anymore are LOCKED!

From my own personal experiences and from what I have seen others mention about the same/similar issue
YouTube (aka YT) is being heavily censored and is very biased a lot of the time

Anyone that agrees with the one side (that YT agrees with / wants to push) can comment and post almost anything they like, including being derogatory towards people from the other side who disagrees, when the ones who disagree try to post or try to defend themselves from being attacked by the opposing side, they get their comments deleted or shadow banned for no reason

Huge majority of my comments that I post on YT either get deleted straightaway by YT or they get shadow banned (and none of them break the YT’s posting rules)

What I mean by shadow banned =
When you are logged into your YT account you look at the comment you made and it seems like it is posted BUT in reality it is not posted at all, it just appears that way to make it seem (to you ) that it has been posted, but no one else can see it

Way to see IF it has actually been posted is to either log out of your account and take a look on the same video you commented on OR use a different web browser and take a look without logging into your YT account

It's still happening a lot and I'm about to delete YouTube. I hardly watch their videos. I literally spend most my time commenting and I put so much time into writing things and making sure everything is spelled and comes out right. I hardly say anything out of line. I mean I called a guy a jackass recently but he was being a total jackass and accusing me of saying things I didn't say and calling me all kinds of names completely unprovoked…I made the mistake of loving Jesus.

Anywho, where was I? So sometimes I might spend an hour just commenting a single comment and they delete it. They make me think the message sent but if I go back, it might be there around 40% of the time and that causes me a lot of frustration. Like I feel none of my time matters to them because they're deleting 40% of my comments which is roughly 4–6 hours of my time per week. Also some of the comments are important to me because I'm connecting with another person and that's when I normally catch that they deleted my messages.

Why does YouTube delete comments at all? Like I don't like being called names but I’m a big boy and don't need YouTube deleting other people's comments.

YouTube’s dumb AI bot thinks your comment is spam so it filters it out.

It’s stupid. It doesn’t know how to filter legitimate spam from Indian scammers, but mistakenly flags real people as spam. They don’t care to fix this because no one has brought it to their attentions yet.

EDIT: If you want to contact YouTube and inform them that their AI sucks and needs to stop auto filtering comments I provided a link to that. Also be sure to spread the word to everyone you know.

Additional thoughts… I understand YouTube should filter comments of spammers but honestly the best thing to do is just have the AI flag some comments it thinks is spam from a bot and simply require a captcha. For example, if it detects too many key words or posting comments at super fast rates instead of just hiding comments.

Currently millions of people around the world are posting comments that get hidden by the AI, but worst of all they have no idea that it happened because they post a comment but don't check to see if its still there. So they may ask a question and think no one is replying and wonder why, but in reality, no one can see they posted anything. This needs to end.

Like this answer to have it be shown to more people if you agree with me. Eventually, if enough people complain they might do something. Problem is very few people are actually complaining about this.

UPDATE: This seems to be the only and most straight forward way to contact them now.

Since they most likely are not going to fix this issue, it may be best to start migrating to other video sharing websites that care more about what people want. Odysee, Bitchute, Gab, ok.ru, BliiBlii, and BitView are some notable examples of websites that allow commenting. If more people start migrating off from youtube and onto alternative websites then youtube will be forced to resolve their problem.

In fact, if you REALLY want to get back at youtube and hurt them, start mass uploading videos to these alternate websites. Just make sure the videos aren’t already on there as to not waste their space.
