6 people — Sheng Qu, Hou Run Liu, Jie Yu, Tingting Liang, Deping Sun and Jian Yong Chen — were arrested earlier this month for allegedly concealing black-market marijuana inside furniture boxes and shipping it out of state.
More than a ton of marijuana was seized during the operation.
Qu, Liu, Yu, Liang and Sun face felony counts for their alleged role in obtaining the drugs from illegal grow operations and using several unwitting commercial freight companies to ship the marijuana from a warehouse at 301 N. Rhode Island Ave. in Oklahoma City. All are charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and two counts of aggravated trafficking of a controlled dangerous substance.
In addition, Qu faces a felony count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and Chen faces a felony count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.
